What I never understand about these stupid zombie movies, is why they never use large scale burn weapons. Giant molotov, oil barrels, napalm, etc. Literally what humans have used for centuries in large scale defensive warfare. The weapons already exist, in large quantities in military warehouses. And failing that, any number of anti-personal weapons/tools. It's just absurd. Especially when there is a heavy military presence on the scene, there is no reason at all these weapons would not be utilized.

The whole ending part was them not discovering a cure, but a camouflage against the zombies, if a person is sick enough, the zombies won't want to infect that person, since the boy had cancer the zombies didn't want to infect him. Sure it's cruel but I would take having something like measles over being infected any day, which is essentially what WHO is distributing at the end of the move. Details like this make this my favorite zombie movie but a terrible book adaptation.

You know what irritates me most of all, somehow? Out of all this insane, fast and furious 5 type nonsense? 0:56 This shit. Right here. What the hell are they doing. Why are they MOVING FORWARD as they fire? Your targets are hurling themselves from crippling heights to land less than 30 feet in front of you. Some of them are probably already dead from the fall, and maybe in one in four if they're lucky will still be able to move enough to be a threat. YOU HAVE ASSAULT RIFLES. Establish a retreating fire line, roll grenades down into the oncoming horde to slow them down, and continue to move backwards so they have to come to YOU. Instead they advance in a frantic pace TOWARDS THE HORDE as their enemy literally falls out of the sky and are almost immediately overwhelmed. Ridiculous lol

That having been said, I do still think they'd have been much better off retreating in a controlled fireline, chiefly because civvies were already bugging out hard in the opposite direction (albeit chaotically). I guess what mainly disappoints me about this movie is it's dedication to insane spectacle while it proudly bears the title of "inspired from the Novel by Max Brooks". Which if you haven't read, I implore you. Wonderful book.
