got nothing on Keanu Reeves though.... When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Keanu Reeves. I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Keanu, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Keanu put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

Sure, it's not a line-by-line version of the book and the movie does drag a bit here and there but it's just a well-made zombie movie.

You're right Steven it was pedal to the metal from the start, I found it so tense because those zombies were super fast and determined and yes like "Train to Busan", in fact when I was watching "Train to Busan", when the zombies all piled on top of each other moving forward on the train I remember thinking WOW, that part reminds me of "World War Z" when in Jerusalem and they were climbing up the wall like ants on top of one another until they eventually got over. Was so random the Doctor slipping up the plane ramp and accidentally shoots himself in the head, we were thinking "NOOOOO", did that just really happen, this guy lasted about 5 mins. I really enjoyed re-watching this with you both again, very entertaining and I loved the fact that you were as tense as I was and I laughed at your jump scares. I saw this film when it first came out just over 8 years ago, I cannot believe it was that long ago now, how time flies, but definitely a GREAT movie. I felt so sad for the little boy losing his parents, but they wouldn't leave their apartment and obviously came out too late, maybe looking for him or changed their mind and were bitten, but thought Gerry and his wife Karin have a new adopted son now who they'll love and the sisters a brother who they'll adore and he'll look after them. Nikki made me laugh when the automatic sensor lights went on in the labs hallway and she does her usual "bleep", "bleep", "bleep" "bleep" "bleep this", "I'm out", "duces", "the light came on", "I'm out",🤣 "duce", "peace", "thank you aaaand goodnight",. P.S. Can I just say, Nikki you always look lovely, but you looked extra pretty at the beginning with the red lipstick, white top with pretty lace type sleeves and your hair looked really nice and the extra dark eyebrows were so on point and sharp too!🥰

Love this movie! It also reminds me of 28 days later. Fast paced zombies are terrifying! I also must say that the music score for this movie just makes the movie!!

I remember first time I watched it, just so much tension all the time, I felt so stressed. And you are super correct Steven, you really don't want to pull out an impaled object like that, gotta bandage it up on both sides to try and stop it moving and doing more damage but you only want to pull it out later with medical supervision and stuff to stop the bleeding.

Saw this at the cinema back then and it's one of my favorite zombie movies ever. My favorite part is where the zombies gathered together to climb that wall, that was insane!!! Also there's a video game with the same name with huge waves of zombies :D

This is my favorite zombie movie, I have lost count of how many times I've watched it. But it's been awhile so I guess I'm due. Now that you guys talked so much about Train to Busan; I guess I will take a chance on it. As usual your reactions are insanely good!!

@@Mangolite For Train to Busan? Why? That's a campy movie.
@Mangolite2 жыл бұрын
@@mattb7479 Campy to you but me, it speaks volumes. Each character was well-rounded, including the COO guy despite the hate you want him dead, if you have seen it? It is about humanity and how all the main protagonists are there to help each other through thick and thin, including the homeless guy. The child actress killed it in her performance at the end. I don’t have any kids, and yet, I am empathetic towards her. You won’t understand until you lose a loved one or have a beating heart.
@mattb74792 жыл бұрын
@@Mangolite I've lost my share of loved ones, what an absurd statement to make. But Train to Busan isn't a serious movie and doesn't take itself seriously either (as seen by the Don Lee fight scene). So I'm surprised by the "bring a box of tissues" comment since there wasn't anything in there inherently sad for a zombie flick.

The "i hate stealth" line from Steven cracked me up! I'm the complete opposite. When I played through The Last of Us games the first time, I made it though almost entirely on stealth. Mainly because I was so scared and panicked when they detected me. 😅 Stealth, molotovs and bombs are my thing. 🙈

Fun Fact #1: I was so shocked and wondering how do you know Brad Pitt and how did you get him to sit beside you for this reaction vid, then I readjusted the resolution and realized it was Steven the whole time. You must get that a lot ;) Fun Fact #2: I loved watching this 'live' when you first did this, lovin it now just as much. Fun Fact #3: During test screenings, most of the feedback was concerning 'what happened to Brad's family(?)'. And so they went back and filmed more scenes with the family. It's easy to see 'clean' scenes where he just goes off into a quiet hallway to talk to his wife as easy to splice back into the film, and I love that ending on the riverbank meeting up with them finally. I like to make up that smile on the wife's face as saying 'see Brad, the only reason we're here today, months after the movie wrapped, the people have spoken, you need us' ;)

Great book. Come to think of it, reaction of many countries in the book closely mimics the initial reaction of those very countries when covid came in 2020. It's uncanny.

theres a scubdiving part the take place at a dam in the book and its pure nightmare fuel. also he goes to a shanty town in africa which is also so intence. the movie would have been 4 hours long. max brooks is an amazing writer.

Not sure if this was mentioned in another post(s), but this movie had an extremely troubled production. It was originally filmed with a completely different third act (right after the airplane crash). That tested poorly with test audiences and they basically re-shot a third of the movie to what you have here. Matthew Fox (the helicopter pilot) originally had a much bigger role in the movie as he was a rising star at the time, but a ton of his scenes were in the original third act that was cut. I wonder if we'll ever get to see it.
