He's just such a DAD! lol Honestly, that's a good thing. Too many actors with good looks are basically rotten human beings with no social etiquette around normal people. But Pitt appears to be one of those special ones that just happens to be a decent human being, on top of being uncommonly good looking. Hollywood needs more people like him.

@@jacob4920 sure about that? He doesn't have a relationship with his oldest son apparently and there's been shady business between the first judge presiding in his custody lawsuit and his lawyer. got nothing on Keanu Reeves though.... When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Keanu Reeves. I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Keanu, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Keanu put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

I recommend the book if you’re into that..They are normal slow zombies in the book, but the book takes place I think 13 years after the fact and it’s an interview with survivors telling their individual stories…The “Battle of Yonkers” is one of the best parts. This move was nerve wracking from beginning to end, and I think it's one of the top Zombie movies out there. It got a bad rap b/c it was a complete departure from the book it was based on, but on it's own, it's an amazing movie! Brad Pitt is top notch!

Book fans tore this movie down, like a pack of... well, zombies, really. They never gave it a chance, and the movie never got a sequel because of that haterade. I tend to side with "book fans" on a lot of movies, but this is one of those rare instances where I actually thought the film was superior to the source material, and just wanted the complainers to stop whining about the departure from the original version.

@russpike9099 Жыл бұрын
@@alkavonstra5479 I'm guessing you've never read the book (it's not a series) It's just one book, and it's fairly short. It's essentially interviews of survivors before, during and after WWZ. There's no one main character like Pitt and nothing in the movie has anything to do with the book. Period. They should have made it episodic Amazon or Netflix series that covers each chapter in the book.

I liked the main characters and the different storylines with each episode, even though they stuck to the main theme. The first three seasons were so good. For me, it started getting a little too "over the top" in Season 4 so I stopped watching. That, of course, is my opinion because the show lasted another 2 or 3 more seasons so it must have been enjoyed by others.

If you like the movie I highly recommend the unabridged audiobook read by a full cast, it is epic. They have a lotta big-name actors that do the reading like Alen Alda, Mark Hamill, Rob Reiner, Martin Scorsese, Simon Pegg...... It is an all-star cast that do an amazing job and makes it feel more like a real-life documentary than a work of fiction.

Great reaction! It's really remarkable, almost a miracle that World War Z, just like Jaws, Apocalypse Now, Waterworld, Groundhog Day, and Toy Story 2, turned out to be a good movie in spite of the making of it being a very troubled production. This is the main reason why the sequel hasn't happened yet. If I was Brad Pitt, I'd hesitate to make the sequel as well. But, hopefully it still happens.

@@arjacfellhand838 its my fave part. Just how the artillery, the linked combat cam system and how people just being lax in searching the homes worked against the soldiers and made the segment work so damn well. Every segment of the book would work as a seperate but linked movie as well. I mean, you would have horror, political, survival and drama.

The opening of this zombie movie is absolutely one of the best filmed versions of how it would probably go down. It's tense, horrifying and still keeps the family dynamic that is essential to the rest of the movie - which is great stuff. As others have said, I just don't understand why this movie got mixed reviews when it came out. Sure, it's not a line-by-line version of the book and the movie does drag a bit here and there but it's just a well-made zombie movie.
@KayKay-l2t
@KayKay-l2t 2 жыл бұрын
You're right Steven it was pedal to the metal from the start, I found it so tense because those zombies were super fast and determined and yes like "Train to Busan", in fact when I was watching "Train to Busan", when the zombies all piled on top of each other moving forward on the train I remember thinking WOW, that part reminds me of "World War Z" when in Jerusalem and they were climbing up the wall like ants on top of one another until they eventually got over. Was so random the Doctor slipping up the plane ramp and accidentally shoots himself in the head, we were thinking "NOOOOO", did that just really happen, this guy lasted about 5 mins. I really enjoyed re-watching this with you both again, very entertaining and I loved the fact that you were as tense as I was and I laughed at your jump scares. I saw this film when it first came out just over 8 years ago, I cannot believe it was that long ago now, how time flies, but definitely a GREAT movie. I felt so sad for the little boy losing his parents, but they wouldn't leave their apartment and obviously came out too late, maybe looking for him or changed their mind and were bitten, but thought Gerry and his wife Karin have a new adopted son now who they'll love and the sisters a brother who they'll adore and he'll look after them. Nikki made me laugh when the automatic sensor lights went on in the labs hallway and she does her usual "bleep", "bleep", "bleep" "bleep" "bleep this", "I'm out", "duces", "the light came on", "I'm out",🤣 "duce", "peace", "thank you aaaand goodnight",. P.S. Can I just say, Nikki you always look lovely, but you looked extra pretty at the beginning with the red lipstick, white top with pretty lace type sleeves and your hair looked really nice and the extra dark eyebrows were so on point and sharp too!🥰

Fun Fact #1: I was so shocked and wondering how do you know Brad Pitt and how did you get him to sit beside you for this reaction vid, then I readjusted the resolution and realized it was Steven the whole time. You must get that a lot ;) Fun Fact #2: I loved watching this 'live' when you first did this, lovin it now just as much. Fun Fact #3: During test screenings, most of the feedback was concerning 'what happened to Brad's family(?)'. And so they went back and filmed more scenes with the family. It's easy to see 'clean' scenes where he just goes off into a quiet hallway to talk to his wife as easy to splice back into the film, and I love that ending on the riverbank meeting up with them finally. I like to make up that smile on the wife's face as saying 'see Brad, the only reason we're here today, months after the movie wrapped, the people have spoken, you need us' ;)

Not sure if this was mentioned in another post(s), but this movie had an extremely troubled production. It was originally filmed with a completely different third act (right after the airplane crash). That tested poorly with test audiences and they basically re-shot a third of the movie to what you have here. Matthew Fox (the helicopter pilot) originally had a much bigger role in the movie as he was a rising star at the time, but a ton of his scenes were in the original third act that was cut. I wonder if we'll ever get to see it.
