Being nice to each other sounds great and in theory we'd all be nice. But the reality is we live in a world of scarcity. That scarcity breeds competition for limited resources. See: every conflict in the middle east for oil resources, or even your 17 fellow office mates all competing for that 1 promotion at work. Or the 20 couples all trying to buy that one house. Point is there are plenty of reasons to not be nice to each other if you want to get what you want in life. So let's not make these idealistic blanket statements of "Let's everyone just be nice to each other." I'm sorry, but Mother Nature doesn't work that way, and people stop being nice real quick when they discover someone else has something that they also want.

It really depends on what stage of life you are on, that will determine which state would be best for you. If you are a recent college graduate, you want a high paying job, to help pay off those college loans. When you are young, you can easily put up with a lot. If you are middle age, you want a place where you can enjoy your personal time. You want good schools and a safe environment for your kids. When you are old, you want the cheapest cost of living. And good healthcare. When I was in my twenties, I wanted to live in Nevada (Las Vegas) so I could party and work. Now that I am middle aged, I live in a state (Virginia) that has great outdoor activities. Someday, when I am old, I will live elsewhere.

It's never capped or addressed as being directly connected by mainstream media. It's an unjustified hike that has bubbled and is popping but it's just sad because it was caused by a trend that started in SoCal jacking up prices in the hood in mid nineties to get ghettos back but when ppl saw it was feasible it swept up the West Coast over the years and created this unjustifiable tripling and even quadrupling of rent and home prices that has really devastated the ppl and still has a job market that can't back it except for a few. Grew up in WA, now I work remotely and only have to go WA twice a year. There's upsides and downsides. For anyone who's not from there, it's amazing. The natural beauty is undeniable (same with OR). The education system, from which I benefited from, is top tier. That's about where it stops for me. WA isn't perfect and it's not for everyone. If you are thinking of moving there (speaking to the majority of this channel's demo) I would rent for a year or 2 first before buying, if your situation allows it. After the honeymoon phase of calling a new place home, you will have a better idea of the way of life there and the day to day.

If you want natural beauty, take a day to drive the Mohawk Trail from Greenfield west; or explore the small towns in the Berkshires (Stockbridge and Lenox are two of my favorites; I love driving through Florida too). The towns that house the 5 Colleges are all worth visiting, even if they're a bit quirky. Western Mass has fall foliage, country stores, small art galleries, apple orchards, and more! North Carolina the worst State for workers. No rights at all for workers as a law. Hearing all that on the other video was painful and brings back memories. No rights to eat, pee or take a break at work, no right for parental time off, sick time, no right for a vacation, bad unemployment compensation, and the State actually prevents local governments from increasing their minimum wage. All they said is true. I did a research paper on it. Their labor site states, "The employer has the right to treat its employees as they deem fit." I wrote in the paper animals have more rights than NC workers do. As they deem fit?! The ASPCA would be all over that if they said that about animals.

Texas has some great things going for it. But it also has some drawbacks. The heat, ofc, as the other commenter mentioned, but FL has that too. The other big problem is everyone is moving there. TX has an overpopulation problem just like CA did starting a few decades ago. It was manifest in the infrastructure issues TX had during the freeze a few years ago that turned into a state of emergency for TX, but something other states deal with every year. TX also doesn't have the stunning natural beauty, mountains, beaches, & national parks that some of the other states on the list have. Ie, UT, ID, WA, FL .

@kaebella2259 / In general, Vermont is much more liberal than conservative New Hampshire ; different vibes. Shalom
@zavaz987 Жыл бұрын
@@gregorystinette8271 I've lived in VT my entire life and am familiar with both VT & NH. I agree with your comments. In many ways, VT & NH are very similar, but the politics are different. VT is very progressive / liberal. NH's license plates have the "Live Free Or Die" motto, which is more libertarian than conservative, but does a good job of capturing a culture that's distinct from the other 5 New England states. Interestingly, VT was one of the the most conservative states in the country for a century, from the Civil War till the 1960's. Its state and federal politicians were overwhelmingly Republican. Starting in the late 60's to the 70's, a lot of people moved to the state with more liberal politics; VT's population was small enough that its overall political orientation flipped around 20 or so years ago.

I live in the Spokane area, and yes, we do get quite a lot of snow. 44 inches per year, way more in the mountains. Only 14 inches of rain, though, so much sunnier than the West side. I do like Washington. I was raised on a wheat farm south of here, and lest you think I'm a yahoo, I lived in San Francisco for 20 years (loved it there, not so much now, though) Keep the vids coming. Minneapolis is neighborhood specific. It really is a huge geographic area. My house in Minneapolis sat vacant for three months. NOBODY disturbed it. That wouldn't be the case in all neighborhoods. The low-lifes are priced out of my neighborhood. My neighbors park Range Rovers and Rivians on the public street 24/7.

No, Florida is raining 50% of the time and the other 50% of the time is no rain. People are "laid back" depending where you are. Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are assholes through and through and it's humid as ****. Plus, everything is expensive and the teachers leaving is good because most of them suck.

People will pay more to live somewhere nice. Its good old fashioned Supply vs Demand. Demand in these areas is extremely high because people want to live there and the supply can't keep up so its expensive.

@@1310beth the question is, are these still nice places to live if it becomes overtaken with poverty and homelessness? Are these places nice to live if people who work full-time jobs struggle to make rent? That is the point I’m trying to make.
