I’ve lived in Atl all my life and was born in east side medical. The traffic is bad and the bugs can be crazy at points but not O.D. The heat isn’t terrible, it’s the humidity that really kills. I love Atlanta because you have two sides of the city. The complete utter city life where you can buy designer clothes, people watch, see you favorite artist, and so on and so forth. Or you can have a full on nature in-depth experience where you can climb up mountains that we have up in Kennesaw which is only an hour away from the city or go camping. It’s a lot of fun to be at and would completely recommend people to come down and visit and see what I mean

That's what I love about Atlanta and the metro area. I always say that it's the best of both worlds. When you want to experience the big city life, it's available. You want to experience small town or country living, it's also available. Even Fulton county has areas that have the country/small town feel despite being the county that Atlanta is located in. I live in Kennesaw, so I know exactly what you're talking about.

It doesn't matter what city you live in if you have bad vibes you will attract bad experiences. The opportunity for MANY great experiences are within Atlanta. The city is expanding by the day. Ponce City Market, The Beltline, The Westside by the New Mercedes Benz Stadium, SunTrust Park, Aquarium, Restaurants, Musuems, huge Malls, mountains, concerts,global conferences, movies and entertainment. If you mind your business then I wouldn't see why other people living their best lives would bother you. I have lived here in Atlanta for 17 years all over the city. There are good and bad parts in every city. Atlanta has more good parts then bad. Coming from a country town in SC, I think Atlanta is the best place to live in the South.

Things you forgot to mention... 1. Sprawl - everything is SUPER spread out and it takes FOREVER to get even a short distance at times 2. Pollen season - it thoroughly coats everything yellow and exacerbates allergies and headaches 3. Poor mass transit - for a major city like Atlanta, Marta is absolutely despicable 4. Racism - The KKK STILL has rallies in downtown Atlanta regularly 5. No water - Seas/Oceans/Lakes that usually make a city nicer are totally absent here 6. Poor/No Sidewalks - while it is improving gradually, many areas still aren’t walkable 7. Inflated rent - too many places charge like its prime beach front property............it’s not 8. Sports - The teams in Atlanta aren’t bad per se, but they definitely leave you wanting more 9. People - not all, but still WAY too many here have a TERRIBLY over-inflated sense of self that doesn’t at all match what they have to offer. Locals know it as “Atlanta-tude” 10. Not quite “there” yet - Atlanta is a city with a LOT of potential, but still has yet to fully and completely realize it. It just always feels like it’s on the verge of “getting there”, but not quite.

@jdraze93215 жыл бұрын
I’m a native ATLien and this guys not wrong about a lot of the things in this video. But #1 at the end is an utter fallacy. ATL does not have 11 months of summer. The first cold snap can happen early as October and cold weather can go as late as May. What does happen though is two different systems basically compete over shaping the climate, the Gulf Stream and the North Pacific Current. These two currents almost intersect over the Piedmont Plateau, and it fucking sucks in the winter. You might think warm currents in the middle of winter are great with 70 degree weather out the blue, but it messes up your immune system, so it’s better to have a set temperature for your body to acclimate to, which is why there’s always mild-cold/flu epidemics in ATL every few years. And on a side note, mid ranged North American wintry climate extends as far south as the Florida panhandle. So it low key pissed me off when that man said 11 months of summer and this video got like 1M views cause that shit is insanely inaccurate lol

1. That's just part of living in a city. 2. That's also part of living in a city. 3. That's also part of living in a city. 4. That really isn't true. The vast majority of people are dumb regardless of the quality of school. 5. What?

My rent for a 1000 sq ft apartment is 3000 dollars a month in Los Angeles. You don't know what expensive means . I used to live in Marietta around 2014 and my 3 bedroom 1300 SQ ft apartment was about 1100 dollars maybe , so even though I had a low paying job , it was very easy to live

Angel_Peguero that is only inside Atlanta city limits. The vast majority of the metro area's ~6 million people live outside the city limits and almost all of them commute. In cars. Because public transportation here is terrible. Atlanta metro is growing at 90k people per year and the infrastructure, roads, and mass transit (lolz) can't keep up. Believe me. We all full here.

This video is painting VERY broad, very inaccurate strokes about Atlanta. Ive lived in Ga my whole life, mostly outside the perimeter. Many suburbs of North Ga are affluent, diverse and well functioning places. Sure there are typical “southern” areas that maybe could be described as “backwoods” but thats becoming less and less common. Many areas are developing rapidly and have a lot to offer to people trying to get out of the busy city. On that note, the city of Atlanta is a cultural hub with a really awesome blend of new and young trends and some remnants of southern charm. Its diverse, modern and I love my city. This video is ass.

I’m a Crawford-Long baby from Atlanta. You forgot to mention the underground scene in Atlanta. Atl has a huge drug scene. Cocaine usage is EVERYWHERE in Atlanta. Not to mention it’s the STD capital of the United States as well as the sex trafficking capital of the Unites States. Atlanta is full of some of the worst people you would ever meet. As someone who has been in this city for a very long time I can tell you this is one of the worst cities I’ve ever been. And that “southern hospitality” doesn’t exist in Atlanta.

Atlanta is pretty much full of transplants from other states. Crime is mostly on the southside of Atlanta (one of the reasons the braves moved to Cobb county.) Agree that bugs are bad here. If you're thinking about moving here and you don't like the country life, here's my best tip. Interstate 285 is a circle around Atlanta. If you're on 285 you are 10-20 miles from Atlanta. If you're exist anywhere on 285, and is driving away from Atlanta, you want to live less than 25 miles away.

TonyMichael winters in Atlanta cannot compare to cold harsh winters up north. Granted you have your horrible cold snaps due to the higher elevation but your winters in Atlanta are nowhere near as long or cold as in the Great Lakes and upper Midwest, not even close.

ATL6 Garrett you are so right. I’ve lived here my entire life. I now live in England during the months of May - July. The palmetto bug is sincerely the most heinous, fastest, and disturbing insect to have to deal with in all of the Deep South. They average 2” long and are indeed a member of the cockroach family. They live in trees, like wood, paper and cardboard. They can fly and appear out of nowhere. We keep our house sprayed 12 mos a year. Have tried the old remedies such as sprinkling Borax detergent around the outer perimeter of our house. Nothing works. We are having a wetter and colder winter than usual and yet we killed on yesterday that was crawling across our pillow in bed. So then at 12:10 am we are changing sheets. We also have a pool and a small lake on our property so when ghee weather gets dry we have even more. Welcome to Ga folks.

Atlanta is the black Mecca. You can't go downtown at night unless you are ignorant of the number of visitors that have been robbed and/or raped or both. The weather is fine and there is only a bug problem if you don't use Orkin. The most affluent part of the city is Buckhead and it is trying to succeed from Atlanta to become Buckhead - a separate city so they can better manage the crime that uses the affluent citizens as financial providers. Crime inside the perimeter is far worse than crime in the distant suburbs; that is why people move 30 miles away and face the traffic.
