It's been maybe 12 years since I last barefooted. I recently bought a 79' Mastercraft stars an stripes and it's time to start again. I'm not a spring chicken anymore I'm now 49.

I have the same story!! I hope my new boat is fast enough for me to barefoot -- it does 39mph. I'll make it work and can't wait for the sensation of 'stepping off' again. Next week, I'll be splitting glass on Lake Powell, yaaa hooo!!

Why do barefooters use outboards instead of regular inboard ski boats?

Jay Derwin usually has a smaller wake.

Better holeshot, especially two strokes.Smaller,harder wake as outboard boats tend to break the surface (skim)whereas inboard boats plough in a way from within the water which makes the wake softer and better suited for slalom and trick skiing.

When you use a boom, you’re not barefooting And yes I learned to barefoot behind my jet boat at 60 mph
