You've motivated me to make my way through "the maze" of iPad products and choose which one to buy next to replace the one that crashed a few weeks ago. That was the second iPad to have died on me! A slice of red light. Dying sun uncovered, but the hope of her rays cannot get through anymore. The unease of darkness is cast upon this place from nowhere but deep inside. A last shimmer of hope where peasants once honored their loved ones, and their heroes. If it will be buried with the fallen remains to be told.

How do you know when to edit things out of the image? Especially when you start with a somewhat ambiguous concept? Nice process video btw!
@gradyfrederickart
@gradyfrederickart Ай бұрын
Good question! It is sadly pretty tough to answer but it mainly comes down to the composition and telling the right story. If the element in question does not serve to push the narrative of the image, then it can be removed. I want to build my composition around the story of the image. As far as composition goes, it just takes experience and developing a strong sense of shape arrangement (something I'm still working on myself) to determine what works and what doesn't. I like studying my favorite movie directors and artists to try and understand what makes certain frames so successful. It is pretty hard to articulate, but it comes with time and practice :) Thanks for watching!

I tried using procreate but I found it to be cumbersome to use in comparison to a desktop with a keyboard and all my shortcuts. Do you use an Ipad keyboard or just click around on the tablet?
@gradyfrederickart
@gradyfrederickart Ай бұрын
@@nacostaart I feel the same way, working on a desktop feels much more fluid and efficient. I don’t use a keyboard for my iPad, but there are some helpful gestures and pen functions to replace some keyboard functions. Obviously there is still some clicking around, but it is still pretty good considering how lightweight the software is. Lots of people only have access to the iPad and don’t have the whole desktop setup so I like to create stuff using both tools. Thanks for watching!

@@EdwinNikkels Thanks! I see what you mean. That element was actually inspired by a little wooden pergola-type structure leading to a temple in the movie the Northman. Could do with a bit more care and design, I agree. This is why these quick mood paintings are great, lots of stuff to build on!
