Just when you think, not another jab video then watch this and realize the very basic steps you are leaving out. Many coaches know what is needed to make a perfect jab yet very few know how to explain the steps on perfecting it. Even if they do know I don't think they take older amateurs like most of us seriously so don't even bother making detailed corrections. "Eye down the barrel" is what put it all together for me! All the money spent with private lessons doesn't compare to the valuable information I have learned from videos like this. Thank you !

I like how you explain when you jab that way you hide your right hand. You also load up on the right hand by having more torque when turning. Much more concentrated power. Thanks. Also by turning more as you say from east to west you can get more reach and extension by blading your body. You can use your shoulders better with that turn also. I’m getting ready to turn pro and my training is from Coach Tom Yankello on KZbin. Well, hey you do what you go to do. Right? We lack boxing resources here in New Jersey. I’ve never heard such a concentrated amount of knowledge from one boxing trainer before. Thanks!

World Class Boxing Channel I used Jack Dempsey’s falling step jab in my last bout of the Golden Gloves with Vladimir Dalton. He exposed my weakness and that gave him the opportunity to counter with his right hand. This jab of yours is ideal for a taller fighter such as Vlad was. Thanks. I’m doing everything I can to prepare for pros. Thankfully I got a new trainer that spends much time on the focus mitts with me and wants me to do 5k punches as Calzahie and Mayweather do in training at least once a week. You give all the finer points along with basic fundamentals that other boxing coaches miss. Good stuff. I’m getting my extra technical training skills from you and your channel. Thanks. I was explaining to my Dad about your stance with the back leg 🦵 & foot 🦶 pointed in a 90 degree direction. The little amount of time I had to learn from your channel I used to a degree of effectiveness in my last bout. Despite my two trainers bailing out on me and only having my father in my corner I did very well over all. Thanks. All these tips help tremendously. I’ve been improving the finer points. Tom, what are your thoughts on the weight sled 🛷 to push for conditioning? I was thinking 🤔 about getting one for conditioning. Right now I use Kettlebells. Yet this weight sled 🛷 seems better for boxing 🥊 and conditioning. www.roguefitness.com/rogue-echo-dog-sled?prod_id=42249&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh8jrBRDQARIsAH7BsXek6oktkXEUlh4q_H-WD39hjqRvVSIl5KxyLJR4SQ8D7l88fqZVqvQaAnZDEALw_wcB

I usually punch with the cross and overhand with the palm down. www.titleboxing.com/title-air-pocket-technology-punch-shield Yet I recently upgraded and got this for my new trainer to hold. I use the overhand right as the one you showed in your prior video. You said your one fighter would always use that over hand right. It seems as if the GGG overhand left hook and over hand right with the palm facing toward you is the most powerful. I’m always picking up stuff from you channel. Joe Devosivoc makes a good point about the elbow glaring out because you turn your knuckle to soon. All these pointers help out. Thanks!

Excellent video and demonstration. There’s so many technical, nuanced steps to any punch. That’s why I always try and refer to jab and hooks by their names and not punches in my gym. I don’t call them punches. I call them jabs and hooks because they are far more nuanced than a punch. I drill a lot of this in my gym without ever actually throwing the jab. It’s just all body movement, alignment, and mechanics first. The actual delivery is the easiest part. Again, thank you for taking the time to make this video coach. I’ve found things I can take back to my guys. 🥊
