Ollie's buys stuff that's essentially on its way to the landfill for pennies. While the miniscule line that was created for the failure will certainly go that route, it's still a bit early for the mainline retailers to be wholesaling the lot. Most look at non perishables quarterly, so probably by fall they will become a permanent addition to the bottom shelves.

Much of the plastic waste that’s impractical to recycle, if it’s already in Europe, gets sent to Sweden. The Swedes have become very good at building incinerators that produce useful heat and electric power from garbage. Yes, yes, the carbon in the plastic (plastics are mostly carbon!) ends up as carbon dioxide, but at least the plastic doesn’t end up as microplastics, and they get something useful by burning it. Probably it would cost too much fuel to collect unsellable toys from Ollie’s and ship them to good incinerators to be burned. I’m thinking landfills.
