Historically, few co-operation initiatives between Malaysia and Singapore have had worked out in the most desired outcomes. Nonetheless, these two countries fate, destiny and fortune are inexorably linked with each other, although there are still some political leaders thinking otherwise. These two close neighbors, esp. their Governments and Political Leaderships must continue to explore creative ways and ideas to enhance co-operation and friendship for the mutual benefits of their citizens. Knowing the SGeans, these people are rather open, friendly and most importantly pragmatic, fully recognizing its geographical size and population diversity .. will always be willing to work with any country for mutual beneficiary co-operation. Opine, if its does fail to deliver, the issue most likely be emanating from the Malaysian side either making higher difficult demand and likely new undiscussed and previously non-listed commitments from Singapore.

It will fail even before it takes off. For the past 60 years both countries cant even come to any agreement to have the fast rail, water agreement or any agreement with the most corrupted country in SEA. Furthermore the education system between both countries is vastly great. the judiciary system in malaysia is also in a disgraceful shape. all government instrumentalies in malaysia is corrupted and managed by mostly uneducated personnels. The level of development between the two countries is too manifestly great. In short Malaysia is lagging far behind Singapore in all levels from education to even basic management, so how can any one say safely that bot can manage this economic zone. Simply say this projct will fail from the start and a waste of money and resourses.

Dont spew these shallow facts that are generated by western agenda driven medias yes there is alot of incompetents shown by some politicians in the past , its is all relative the reason singapore is good is also due to its relative context of its population and size dont forget that , Malaysia has always been under the radar for its excellent quality of life compared to alot of countries in the world even alot better than singapore in multiple aspects. Yes those at top play the shallow race and religion card but at the core Malaysia and its people hold all the values that Singapore champions and I believe are in equal footing in terms of competence.

Changes in government leadership in Malaysia or Singapore could lead to policy reversals or a loss of commitment to the project. Past projects, like the High-Speed Rail (HSR), were delayed or canceled due to political shifts. Strained diplomatic relations between Singapore and Malaysia (e.g., over water agreements, territorial disputes) could impact cooperation. Rising global protectionism or economic downturns may also reduce investment interest.

The author has cover most of the points on SEZ. The economic benefits to Malaysia is overwhelming, while to Singapore is mediocre; could be 80/20. There is one overwhelming downside risk for Singapore ie helping Pasir Gudung to challenge Singapore's port. We cannot afford to help Pasir Gudung to develop cargo volume above the critical mass whereby it can do what it did initially but failed and going to succeed this time. So, the two major factors against Singapore in SEZ are : low share of benefit and building a potential rival port. So, minimally, Malaysia must agree to build a small vessel port near 2nd link and agree that all sez cargo to be shipped to Singapore for shipment overseas.

Modern Urban Agricultural Development(urban & suburban) will benefit both(🇸🇬 & Johore). Output(s) from contract farms(certified growers) supply to both markets. Just a small step to begin with. 😁Plan A(JS-SEZ) 😁Plan B(duplicate VSIP Vietnam economic model is a proven success). Strictly operate in JS-SEZ or within Johore state only. 😁Mind you, going beyond is higher investment risks.

as malaysian, i hope this project fail as it didn't benefit us much while we will just be helping singapore control our industries and supply chains giving them massive advantage in unfair nature of SEZ deal. the famous snake in the grass scheme they did with indonesia where they basically have indonesia by the balls. in fact we need to always look at singapore with an eye of caution always scrutinizing every detail in each deal with wariness and investigate every person in charge from malaysia side for bribes from singapore. we will not be played with like a child again. najib era is over where you u pay 2 win by bribing the pm.

This SEZ is to repeat implementation of Suzhou Industrial Park or SIP. However, the main difference between these 2 concepts is that China was opening out that enormous local market plus cheap cheap cheap manufacturing costs (lands, labours, energies and raw materials). SEZ is competing with the region to produce cheaper cost products, which is very limited. Are they value adding to establish factories here in SEZ? The competitve advantages need to be obvious to attracting investors. What are there?

Why did the Following Fail - despite Lots of Super Hype in the Beginning - ,.. Puteri Harbour One Deg 15 Marina Pinewood,..Iskandar Studios Medini 9 Highrise Construction stopped There seems to be a series of self-denials and reluctance to discuss openly, the Failures, so that All can learn Lessons to improve in the Future. Does the Reader, really Dare to Discuss the Fundamental issues ? I Wish, pray for this SEZ to be Successful, however based on the Past, and Present Behaviours of many,..Time may repeat similar mistakes again (..because of the reluctance to discuss, analyse past failures,..)
