ISLANDER 1YO PARTY! Ailinglaplap Atoll, Marshall Islands || Part 1

First year old birthdays are a big deal in island culture. I was lucky enough to be invited to one and document it! We hopped on a boat at Ebeye, Kwajalein Atoll and traveled 110mi open ocean to get to Ailinglaplap Atoll to celebrate with his families and friends. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! It was so fun living for a week sharing food, stories, games, laughter, and memories with these amazing people. One of the most pure, non-touristy things I've done and I loved it.

Nicely done! This brought back some fantastic memories of my time teaching in the Marshall Islands. Way back in '92 I was fortunate to spend 6 months on Ebeye and 6 months on Mae (Namu Atoll). Some of the nicest people I've ever met.

A 10 hour boat ride from Kwajalein to Ailinglaplap, wow!! That's a lot of time to pass, but worth every minute. Love this footage, I don't think we deserved a drone operator on the northern Marshall Islands but we got one, can't wait for Part 2
