A very intresting comparison. It's unbelivaible to see that the Croatien Military is stronger as the Austrians. Austria has a little bit over 9 Million inhabitans, Croatia only nearly 4 Millions. The only reason is that the Croatiens are afraid that the Serbs attack Croatia again. Especially if the Russian win the Russian-Ukrainian-war. But only my humble opinion.

Our border with Serbia is verry narrow. However, verry wide with Bosnia. So they'd have to go trough B&H. Not feasable. In 90s they used shock and awe using 80k strong JNA vs no air power, basic organization, no armor, wwii artilliery- got entrenched as soon as we and Bosnians organized. Remmember HR and BIH werent allied in the south from day one. We even got into fights among us. But since neither Sarajevo or Zagreb fell... JNA failed, they only held to RS. Kinda like Russians pulled a b line for Kiev and failed, so they hold Dombas. Same doctrine at the time. Today; both Serbs and Croats put higher emphasis on special forces and recon. So we are more of a specialised tool for a potential ally than a frontline holding force. Due to small armies both tier 1s are ranked quite high. With the addition of modern multirole fighters and the fact that RH is an EU&Nato asset likelyhood of a war is non existant. Thats why Rus rushed to grab more teritory from Ukraine before they can ratify and consolidate with EU. As for Serbs, they're not like Russians. They wouldnt just throw lives like that, let alone cause the art. 5 invocation. In fact, given the democratic climate... they're alright. I know this might be an unpopular statement but if allied we'd be a nightmare to deal with. We're both ideal for providing instructors and small, highly trained, well equiped QRF's. Small armies=concentrated spending. Our guys trained army and civil Police in Kabul. US Marines were jelly of our kits. Mostly domesticaly made. We might suck at politics... but not at soldiering. Both sides were historcaly often used as auxiliaries by bigger powers. "Alot of bang for little buck" - unfortunately.

We cannot compete with Austrian professionalism and budget. However, we do have excellent personnel with experience. Also, Croatia is bound by the NATO agreement to allocate 2% of its national budget to defense and we stick to it. Most Croatians look up to Austrians. Da, tako je zbog toga što je KZbin algoritam (program koji upravlja koji će videi biti prikazani kada "surfaš" po KZbin-u) preveo samo naslov videa da bi se pridojmio većoj javnosti. naravno, KZbin nema pravo mjenjati ili manipulirati sami video (ponekad možda promjeni jezik opisa videa ili njegove titlove), no lagan prijevod naslova dovoljno je za primamit ljude gledati video koji možda nebi bili pogledali jer ne razumiju poantu videa bez pravilnog naslova. No they don't, but they do have rivers using which they can transport things like if they were on sea! Hamburg (DE) is a really good example of a port on a river. (Fun fact, Austro-Hungary in the 19th century tried to straighten the Drava river which nowdays has lead to many land disputes within Croatia and Serbia).

From Croatia's perspective it wasn't. Yes, Croatia was better as a socialist country, but would've been better then today if it wasnt for capitalism. Yugoslavia only slowed us down (the money made in Ljubljana, Kopar, Rijeka, zagreb, Zadas, Split, Dubrovnik,.. all went into the development of Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia. Not to mention that the Croats held no more than 20% of the YNA even though it paid for the most of it.) Croatia can and should be better nowdays, it's just that we're letting our young people go to Germany, Ireland or USA instead of being helpful here in their homeland.

Zasto Austrija ima ovakvu vojsku? Pa prvo moras pogledati u povijest. Razlog je gubitak Drugog svjetskog rata i kako Austriju nebi zadesilo isti slucaj kao sa Njemackom, podijela na dvije okupacione zone Rusku i Saveznicku, Austrija pristaje na to da nece nikada biti dio Sjeverno-atlanskih asocijacija i biti ce nezavisna. Ruski utjecaj je jos uvijek jak u Austriji. Ukoliko Austrija udje u NATO moglo bi joj se dogoditi slicna sudbina Ukrajine.
