@ningenslayer63067 ай бұрын
Swerve already feels less important than several other angles on the show, none of which are even related to the World Title. The fucking Intercontinental Title is more relevant rn, a mid card belt. If the reveal of his opponent next week isn’t really good - or even if Swerve doesn’t get to say shit again - he’ll practically be a placeholder champ. And that’s a pretty bad look when you’ve just talked up him being the first black World Champion in your company.

Don't you find it odd that Jon Moxley was able to talk about his championship, which isn't even an AEW belt, but Swerve isn't given any time to let his thoughts be known? I'll bet every penny in my bank account that Swerve is a transitional champion so that they can crown the actual "star" Will Ospreay. Which is a real shame; Swerve could he huge star if they actually marketed him as such.
@mikefrost55757 ай бұрын
You know what would've been cool for this episode? How about having Swerve talk about how he feels about winning the world title? It baffles my mind that Jon Moxley got to talk about winning his world championship, and it isn't even an AEW belt! And yet, Tony can't give Swerve a few minutes to talk about how much this accomplishment means to him? It makes the AEW World Championship feel 2nd rate, and it takes a whole lot away from Swerve. Makes it feel like this was done for cheap praise rather than making a star.

Tony Kahn - yes , him - actually looked very sympathic. Kahn sr coming out at the end was kinda brilliant. With omega coming back, they have such an opportunity right now with this storyline. The worst part about this is that Tony is still going to be doing shoot interviews after big PPVs, so how is that going to work? Vince occasionally did Off The Record in Canada, but he never gave away storylines or broke character necessarily. He found ways to "shoot" without actually exposing anything - and he was the guy who exposed the business in the 80s. I don't see how this works. CM Punk is able to do shoot interviews and not expose much of what he's doing as well as MJF, but both of those guys could be out of AEW soon and I don't think Tony knows how to work anyone.

That’s how honesty I would have booked it & reason why I have a problem with it is bc TK is basically going backwards on everything he said years ago & if they would have booked it like that then I would have had problem with that bc if it was like that then TK would have no choice but to come out since they elite were losing there shit but I just hope the whole attack that happened on Tony Khan ends up being worth it for a good storyline

Well, we knew this was going to happen at some point. Tony can't help himself in the newest AEW desperation act. We say the birth to the Tony Khan character, the entire show when they keep coming backstage to the Bucks and Perry, I was like this is happening. It's going to be a trainwreck but it's happening and it did. Tony took one of the worst bumps in history with that punch from Perry and the Bucks gave him the safety TK Driver ever. The question is how does this play out? Is Tony going to try and become the "Mastermind" behind this ala Eric Bischoff or Vince? Is he going to write himself off TV for a while? I know there are rumors that part of the reason Omega is now going to be at Dynamite next week is to become the head of AEW. Which is funny being he said on his stream he's had no power as an EVP or shouldn't? Where does Shad Khan fit into this, I know people there are memes everywhere already over the face of "disappointment' he had. Could he become an onscreen character as well? Most of all will Tony sell the injury during the NFL Draft or is this whole thing already DOA. Another question is if Punk got fired because Tony "feared' for his life, due to Punk "lunging" at him. Shouldn't the Elite be getting a far worse punishment? The Biggest takeaway from this is, that all eyes are on AEW right now. Do they somehow make this work, as a new era of Mr. McMahon, or does this blow up in their faces like Dixie Cater in control of TNA? If this doesn't draw ratings and attendance records up, where does AEW honestly go from here?
