For whatever it’s worth, I never saw your criticism of AEW as hatred or your praise of AEW as blind love. I always respect your opinion on topics (this being one of them). Thank you for being open about your thoughts on AEW in past videos and in this video. I am sad that AEW isn’t as on a solid foundation as it was when it started. While there are things I enjoy about AEW now, the flaws you pointed out (and called years ago) are ever present. I truly hope AEW makes improvements and if that means having someone else be the lead booker (which may not happen anytime soon or at all), that may need to be the move so that AEW can grow. If it were to somehow happen, TK should hire Scott D’Amore (who was fired for some reason by TNA but that’s another conversation) to lead a creative team to book AEW programming. TK can still be the owner; he would just relinquish his booking power of AEW shows and maybe he can keep booking ROH since that seems to be more his speed nowadays. Thank you again for your transparency on this topic

Thank you for sharing this. While I've never been a big AEW fan, I understand the need for it. WWE got too big, repetitive, and out of control. AEW made them realize they needed to make changes and lit a fire under them. My biggest problem with AEW from Day One is people like the Bucks, Jericho, and Tony himself taking shots at WWE from the gate. Saying they would beat WWE in the ratings and be the biggest company ever. Jericho calling himself the "Demo God or the One-Million View Man" is why people take the piss out of AEW now, you already set yourself up for failure. AEW is good for business as an alternative but it needs someone who can run it properly as a business and not because they dreamed of fantasy booking. Jericho, The Elite, and Tony are part of the problem and need to go, for AEW to thrive, just like Vince needed to go for the WWE. Tony can still be the owner of AEW, but someone else needs to be the head booker. The events of last week have shown that. No one wants AEW to die or go away even if we are critical of it, we just need it to be the best number 2 it can be.

@johnnybravado71417 ай бұрын
@@michaelbreen7865 That does not matter. Matt was also a multi-time world tag team champion so he was no slouch for Edge to lose to especially since he's faced him multiple times for those tag team titles. They're no strangers to each other and either taking the loss would not hurt either one but it would damage the storyline if the wrong guy wins and the wrong guy did win. Apparently you don't know how to resolve storylines properly and the funny thing is neither does Vince McMahon or Tony Khan (Angelo vs Zak was a train wreck). As for Matt venting his frustrations on social media, you're right he shouldn't have vented it on social media he should've dealt with it in person. But regardless, there's a rule that I make sure everyone is aware of because not only does it address the issue it also shows where you all stand as human beings. It goes like this. If you're gonna deliberately screw somebody over don't ever tell them to calm down. In other words, you can't be the voice of reason if you're the one that's in the wrong. Edge was screwing Matt Hardy out of his girl so Matt should not have to calm down. And BTW, the only way Edge could lose momentum being pushed to a world title position is if he lost to a nobody that hasn't even won a title in the company, like what AEW did to Angelo or like what WWE tried to do with Austin that led to his walking out of the company.

The first error that made me feel gutted as a fan, was Darby Allin being redhot at the time and pushing the whole "relentless" thing, and people buying into it from all the pain hed put himself through to win... then immediately have him tap to Jericho at a PPV. Like what?!!!! You're selling this guy as relentless, but you have him tap right out of the gate?! It was so easy to fix that. You could have done EVERYTHING the exact same, but at the end of the match, when Darby gets put in the Walls, have him hold on for a long time before "passing out." Jericho gets his win, and then you can go on Dynamite and hype how Darby held for really long, to the point that he'd rather pass out than tapout, and you could have kept him off TV for a few weeks saying that him staying so long in the walls did something to his vertebrae. And have Darby come back acting like performinh the coffin drop REALLY hurts him, while one announcer sells how Darby shouldn't do the move that recently after back treatment, while another announcer sells how Darby is Darby, will do anything to win a fight/title. You could have gotten lots of sympathy for Darby while getting heat on Warlow by having Warlow Powerbomb Symphony the crap out of Darby after having back treatment. (Although I think Warlow was just doing double powerbombs back then.) None of this is rocket science.

So smaller promotions like the ones mentioned (not calling AEW small but you get my drift) allows them to learn how to work TV, realize what works for a larger audience, and MAYBE gives them a better chance to be looked at by WWE. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the absence of Cody Rhodes is severely felt after he left, and it's probably not a coincidence that this was when AEW's honeymoon period came to an end. Of the original EVPs when AEW started, I am starting to believe Cody was the glue that held everyone together, and his influence is the reason for their hot starts. Once Cody left in early 2022, the slow decline of AEW's product and Khan's need to stamp his mark everywhere became evident. Even though I admit I prefer WWE better, I am in the camp that advocates for alternatives, cause not only does it mean more jobs for wrestlers and other personnel, but healthy competition can also help with improving the quality of the wrestling product. Once again, I need to stress that my beef with AEW has never been with the product, the wrestlers (especially since there was a lot of WWE alumni that Vince ran out, sometimes for very petty reasons), or the presentation. It's the fan base, specifically the hardliners, the worst of the IWC, and the group that Khan desperately wants to be a part of. Even if my teams lose, I try to be gracious in defeat, rather than try and rub it in, which these hardliners absolutely relish in AEW's high period. Tribalism is a problem in the wrestling community, and I will be the first to admit WWE has its share of douchebag fans. However, as much as our product stinks at times, we do not cry victim when it gets criticized. Khan and his hardliner fans take any slight very seriously, like you just insulted their entire being (a trait of narcissism, which I have since learned). Their constant need to flex and posture over WWE is also getting very annoying over time, like a petulant child that won't let go of the slight until they get that final middle finger moment. Long story short, while I am certainly fine with AEW existence and its success, I would prefer it to not come with fueling the egos of these entitled and narcissistic hardliners, cause Khan is clearly taking pages from them, and it's hurting AEW's success and presentation at the moment.

Vince Russo of all people left WWF because he was gonna have to HELP book 2 shows per week ( yeah money was a factor) here you have Tony booking 4 per week and a PPV. His promotion would be failing if he was playing EWR or TEW, never mind in real life.

My only problem with Aew is that they are lacking of identity if you back in 2019 to 2024 you can see the downside of the product casual fans are not tuning in heck even hardcore fans are slowly turning their backs on them.

I agree with everything you said, and have felt this way for a while now. I've always considered AEW as an indie federation with an unlimited budget, but zero direction. TK wants constant validation that they're a "real wrestling company".

Never been an AEW fan, but I do agree that a 2nd strong company that could be an alternative to WWE is needed. Whether it is TNA, NWA, AEW, or NJPW me as a consumer just want a good show. Tony Khan is definitely not the guy to lead the charge in AEW, he's a goddamn manchild mark that only cares about "dream matches" rather than making a good coherent stories, he should not book the show anymore.

AEW needs to find the magic they made them the draw they were in the beginning. Play Tony Khan not staying in his Lane and poking at WWE because he got CM Punk out of retirement he took his eye off the ball and now the product is totally suffered from it

I personally wanted to like AEW. But I think they fizzled out way too quickly. They have done great things. They clearly light a fire inside WWE. But Adam Page; his promo on Punk, and his inability to listen to veterans of the business, just made me see a different side of AEW and Tony. Tony should’ve definitely pull Page a side and let know know he need to be very careful about the things he says. Adam Page attitude is definitely a problem. Punk should’ve never went off the way he did. But let’s face it. Vince would’ve gotten in Page face.

The reason why people probably watch one of your vids or tweets and just judge you based off that is not your fault or their fault. It's the fault of the community as a whole. I know you're not bias or anything. But this is a community where alot of people from fans to celebrities to actual carnies in the business like Russo and Eric operate in bad faith. I've never seen a industry/community that operates in such bad faith as this one does. 98 percent of this community is just tribal savages across the board. That's why when someone see one of your opinions or anyone's they just dismiss it and label as something.

AEW with all it's problems is still 100 times better than WWE television. 1 match of Will ospreay is equivalent to an episode of RAW, I get that much value in ospreays match alone. Never mind all the other amazing matches and characters AEW has every friggen week. When AEW dies, that's the day I quit being a wrestling fan. I ain't got no time for WWE's crap and that's what their show is, crap. I watched last weeks RAW and other than Mcyntire and Sammy Zayne, the show sucked. With the Rock gone for a while you'll see the ratings fall back down.
