Underappreciated classic. One of the best side-scrollers from the 16-bit era, and Shinobi friggin 3 and even better! (In some respects). Damn, Sega was on fire here. It was only when I first discovered this game that I had trouble on some of the stages, but other than that, I can't say RoS is a very hard game. It's hard, but it ain't that hard. Ninja Gaiden is more unfair, but in reality, RoS is a bit tougher (although not as Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos).

I remember playing this game back in my elementary school days when I was child. Before playing shinobi 3 I thought that this game was like in shinobi 3 but I was wrong in this joe doesn't jump kick or run like in shinobi 3 but the gameplay is still the same like throwing shuriken and using close melee sword slashing attack is still the same now I know the different between the sega shinobi games. Back in my day I wasn't able to complete the entire because the final level the labyrinth maze was so confusing I didn't know which was the right or wrong door I should go to thus I GIVE UP on completing this game and never got a chance to find and fought the final boss neo zeed aswell as not see the ending until now when I watched the video here on youtube. While growing up during 5th grape my brother got a sega smash pack that also had this game the revenge of shinobi it played like the megadrive counterpart but was missing few tracks from the original. But on the sega pack of this game shinobi I still couldn't beat game again because the last level was always confusing to know different between the right or wrong door thus throwing in the towel again like before. I also understand that this game has two ending both the good and bad ending which depend if joe can beat the final boss neo zeed to save his girlfriend before it's too late. I see during the fight against neo zeed is that if joe can beat the final boss neo zeed on time then he will save his girlfriend making it the good ending but if joe doesn't hurry up defeating neo zeed then he can watch his helpless girlfriend getting crush to death by the trash compactor making it the bad ending where the sadden joe thinks about her Wow. I can also see that this game has a lot of reference to other activities like the spiderman boss from marvel comics batman boss from d.c comic devilman from manga the flame thrower Sylvester stallone soldier from Rambo and the anrold Schwarzenegger terminator boss while in the wii virtual console spiderman is now pink because sega no longer has the license right to marvel the time they made a game called spiderman vs kingpin and I haven't forgot about the adventures of batman and robin game another game that's licensed by sega . So this game was very very memorable I made not be able to beat but at least I enjoy the game is what matters the most and I haven't forgot that I also enjoy the soundtrack composed by the street of rage composer yuzo koshiro my favorite soundtrack are make me dance, long distance, and like a wind. But like I said this game was very memorable so thank you for uploading this video Yeah to Yes.

Something about these first party launch titles always stood out for me, as many of them (Revenge of Shinobi in particular) seemed to be superior to many other titles for years to come. The music and sound effects in this game are very clear, and avoid the "twanginess" that Genesis music came to be known for. Even the graphics are excellent for a 16-bit title, with what at the time appeared to be an almost "realistic" quality to them.

There's something about mega drive game endings that touches the heart. When I completed Sonic 2 when I was a kid it brought a tears to my eyes.

This game also has the same composer for Streets of Rage 1 and 2, as well as their 1-up sound.
