For 1999, this is a great game. The graphics show their age. But for Konami, this is such a masterpiece. It runs a lot smoother than silent hill Whe it came out in the same year.

This game is awesome. I'm finally playing it on my N64 and I've enjoyed the hours spent. It's a shame that this Castlevania has been received so many bad critics, what I consider really unfair for a videogame that makes efforts to give the player hours and hours of fun.

If I am not wrong, I remember reading someone saying that this game had good reviews. I think the game is pretty good and people should consider how were 3D games when this was released. I like this just the same that I like Symphony of the Night.

The issue is that it wasn’t the game that people at the time were expecting due to Mario 64, and Ocarina of time coming before hand. But it is definitely a decent game.

I started playing it to 3 weeks ago and Im surprised how good the game is so far. A little bump to the frame rate would've been nice but hey, no complaints !

One of my all time favorite 64 games, terribly underrated Castlevania, good music, atmosphere, characters, exploration and gameplay was good if you get good at it, the camera can be a pain in some spots but is manageable. Legacy of Darkness is awesome too, fixing some aspects, I say play both games to fully experience it because LOD doesn't have all the stages of original C64.

If you have a problem with that then play the game yourself. And it doesn't ruin the mood or atmosphere of the game. That's just you. How does jumping, an ability of your character, ruin the atmosphere? The fact that you think it does is what ruins it for you, not the jump itself. So you are ruining it for yourself.
