I got this at Kay bee toys back in 1995 for 10 dollars on a CD ROM, it also came with a 6 button controller for PC. The controller was called PC fighter 6.

This was a fantastic port. It came with a 6-button controller and CD soundtrack for $19.99. The controller was very nice, from what I recall!

And I just remembered. The games I used it for the most were Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 as well as the Gametek port of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, which was much better than this one.

MrDogZ (IID) Yes! That was advertised. Basically, the jewel liner had a table with which track went with each channel, and there was an option where the game changed the tracks automatically in conjunction with the stages.

I find it strange that this version was made in widescreen, maybe the developers used a wider monitor, I don't know, but if you emulate it and fill the entire screen on your modern monitor/TV, the game will be displayed basically without distortion, during the fights, I bet it looked really weird in the standard monitors of the time, everything squished. At first, I thought this port was bad, but then I started seeing this as an enhanced SNES/Genesis port, with better voices, but the music should have been better, maybe there's options to make it sound better, different sound card, etc.

I remember preferring this version on PC over the Turbo one because the color palette felt more original and "authentic". Realizing now that the port is pretty lackluster with tiny character sprites.

Sounds like a very bad MIDI version, might have been installed from floppy disks to keep the storage needs down for the install - chances are there was a CD version knocking around that played the audio directly from disk... shame this isn't it :P

You must defeat this tinny music that doesn't go with everything to stand a chance! Seriously though, except for the poor music, this wasn't a bad port. It's quite clearly adapted from the home ports due to the flaming barrels bonus stage, being replaced by the brick wall breaking stage and the barrels bonus stage being moved to the third mini game, rather then the second.

A Sound Blaster 16 could probably handle Qsound-esque music if the devs put some effort into it, but that clearly isn't the case here. Still a solid port and far superior to the U.S. Gold port of the original SF2.

Ahhh Pc's in the early 90's. It would have been played on a 14 inch monitor with x2 $5 dollar tin speakers. Playing on a keyboard. Even if it was 100% arcade perfect it still would have sucked.

I think this version is better than the turbo version, this version does seem to have a wider screen, characters and all around well fit on screen, the turbo version has some huge characters and the screen resolution is way off! However the sound on turbo is slight better!

But the announcer and fighting noises sound on par making it similar to the arcade and previous snes ports. The Snes version of this is the superior version, I'd just play that one instead. I should know, cause I own it and world warrior and turbo on my snes.
