there was a random component to the design, when you die, you never really knew what you would retain. sometimes loss of weaponry and speed was minimal, sometimes you lost it all. That was irksome. But I loved all those other aspects you speak of, especially the music and the visuals.

Wow, the amount of graphical detail put into this game is spectacular. I also really like the upgrade system and how it adds onto your ship. The game looks excellent.

I got the chance to play this first in the early 2000s. It reminded me of an advanced, highly polished Truxton (which I also love.)

This game took me decades to find again!!! I played it in the mid 90s at a pizza place called Hall of Fame Pizza that closed in 1998. I looked around the Tube and the graphics and music INSTANTLY took me back to that magical time. That first boss felt insurmountable as a kid!!!!!!

Heh, we had this game at Rutgers Camden. I learned all the patters of pieces to collect for armors and which armors were the most effective against bosses and utterly DESTROYED the high score forever. You also don't get any of the powerup tokens that are purple. They DRAIN your energy and weapon multipliers. It also replayed with more difficulty after you beat it the first time, and I made it through twice!

The same for me, I don't remember my exact score but it was over 2 millions at the end of the second loop ! By the way the player in this video is pretty good at avoiding bullets, but has no clue of what he is doing and miss completely how to pick and use weapons :p

Alexandre Labedade If you get the right armors to use as shields and keep recharging them, you can basically go through the entire game with armors on and never risk getting blown up until the 3rd loop when it starts getting crazy.

Alondro77 Yup, that's true, but I never had a chance to get to the 3rd loop ... In fact I did go to the 2nd loop only once, and never found what were the conditions to achieve this. I've finished the first loop whithout loosing a single life countless times, but it seems that other conditions has to be met. If you have any information to share on how to go to the second loop and more, I'm very interested ;)

Alexandre Labedade You had to get more defensive armors, ones that you could use to absorb hits, rather than using their special attacks, and save the most powerful weapon armors only for the bosses. Trying to collect as many energy boosts tol hold onto your armors as long as possible and G's to buy more armors was also crucial to finishing the second time.

Ok, but I've no problem to finish the first loop and pick many armors and G's, without losing a single life. The problem is that after killing the last boss, I'm sent directly to the end credits, not the second loop. That's why I'm wondering what are the actions to do in the first loop to get access to the second.

this game looks great in video but it feels a little clunky and over complicated when you play it. still a good game though especially since it was one of the first on Neo Geo. nice video :)

Não é possível Como o cara consegue não levar um tiro, uma bomba, um míssel e desviar de tanta coisa sem ser acertado, e por isso mesmo se manter com artilharia que dispara tanto tiro. Impressionante, tem que treinar muito pra isso. Eu tenho esse jogo, e digo, morro várias vezes na primeira fase, mas consigo passar, e com artilharia com pouco disparo, mas na segunda é fatal, não passo mas nem ferrando.

Unfortunately that's not controllable the game just puts it where it wants to each time you play just like the warp speed "W" and the reverse "R" sometimes they don't they don't show up at all
