I'm Korean. Dog meat is no longer popular in Korea. The reason is simply that there are too many foods to eat besides the controversial dog meat. It goes away on its own, and animal rights groups who want to make it controversial every year argue about it. The fundamental problem is that the government leaves the rules for dog meat in a gray area because of national prestige. What I want is to bring dog breeding and slaughter for meat into regulations so that they are no longer raised in unsanitary conditions and slaughtered cruelly. Again, dog meat is not as popular in Korea as foreigners think it is and will soon disappear.

This is sickly. No dog or any animal at this point should be treated under this circumstance. I could hear you holding back tears as you narrated and illustrated. It is so sad that a dog dies every 13 seconds just for food. This is very unfair and animal cruelty needs to stop. The saddest part was when you said “He came towards me with a knife” and then you cried. I could tell that dog died and went through so much. This story didn’t have a happy ending but it told a lot. I’m young but I want to be a vet when I grow up. Maybe I will work at an animal shelter too. I mosy solemnly believe, that this is one of the REASONS, that dog meat is such a big industry over there!!FORGET about the dog´s emotions.FORGET that is has fears.THESE CONCEPTS DO NOT EXIST IN THE EAST! Animals are animals, and a LOT of them are meant for human consumption, just because WE are regarded as the superior beings on the planet!!
