What a versatile aircraft! We have a few at museums here in Southern California, with an extemely rare USMC version, the PB-J at the Southern California Wing of the CAF in Camarillo, CA, and a true movie star, also a J model at the Chino Planes of Fame to name two. Camarillo Airport had a second B-25, Executive Sweet, which was another Catch-22 veteran, recently was sold to the Liberty Foundation in Ohio.

An interesting bit of trivia is that the book/movie Catch-22 _created_ the expression catch-22.
@nightjarflying2 ай бұрын
The author of the book Catch 22, Joseph Heller, coined the term.

I can't believe it took me this long to notice, the music at the start of every episode is the RAF March Past

Yes! It's actually the RCAF playing (I'm Canadian) but I won't quibble! It's public domain and I thought it had the perfect tone to start the show.

You forgot to say Doolittle demonstrated bombing cold sink battleships in 1925.

I don't know if you know this interesting fact about the b-25 but when I was young i Watch the making of the Battle of Britain movie and they used a modified b-25 for the aerial filming of the movie...

They used B-25s for everything, during and after the war! It was such a versatile machine.

Really interesting. Thank you. I believe, but could be wrong, that the last time a B-25 was used in anger was during the Biafran War in Nigeria (1967 - 1970) when the Biafrans somehow got hold of a single example and used it against government forces. If any one knows more details I would be very interested to know.

I would believe it! It was such a long-lived and versitile aircraft that just kept going like the Energizer Bunny!
