If you watched Arcane that came out Nov 6th with Worlds, then you would know that all of the locations they shot were directly from the show Arcane. From the style of the clothing, to moving up from Zaun's undercity all the way up to the extra posh Piltover. Also, the poor pillow didn't deserve that abuse lmao

The problem was that Arcan came out after this ceremony. Biggest mistake in my opinion. Noone saw any episodes of Arcane when watching this, so it kinda fell flat. Now that the show is out, this ceremony is better, but thet should have released the first 3 episodes one week earlier imo

Due to covid problems in China (where this Worlds was supposed to occur) riot had to have worlds in Iceland where a previous tournament had been, so a live performance wasn't possible -> lack of preparation time and not being able to have a crowd. Hopefully next year there'll be no problems and we'll get a solid Worlds live ceremony as it should be, pretty sure next year's Worlds is in NA as well, so should be fire!

It definitely seems like Arcane just stabbed at a lot of emotions for people, from the reactions on Twitter, especially with people remembering some voicelines, like Jinx being reminded of it being her fault and faces in the fire. Also, I believe that was a real set mixed in with the animation. And also, apparently League had a collab with Arcane and a big name cosmetic brand.

due to the time it takes to plan Worlds as a tournament (remember it takes around a month usually from the play-in stage to the final) they decided early to not go for a live audiance to have security in their planning without having to worry about the corona status months in advance.

There was no crowd this year cuz of COVID still and because last years worlds show was received real bad they probably went in this direction to get better production values

So much like people said, the relocation for worlds based on Covid was gonna kill most chance for a live show this year since they wouldn't know how things would be, so this was the safer path. That said, I think it works well specifically this year, because this is ALSO the launch of their first ever show based on League of Legends, so they were able to tie it all together. On a sidenote for all this, I don't remember what video I was watching where you said they needed to make an action adventure style game based on the characters...it's still slated for this year, so I'm almost certain it'll be delayed...Epic Games store still has the game Ruined King coming up for 2021 release. Added to that with the release of Jinx into Fortnite, and the addition of ALL Riot Games onto the Epic Games Store...so Riot did a lot of other stuff based on all of this as well that people didn't get to see in the background. I know Ruined King is supposed to be based around stuff with Viego, who was in the Ruination cinematic that started off with Lucian and Senna in it. I'd recommend checking out information on it if you can. They've got some screenshots and I think 2 trailers on the EGS you can look at to see if it's along the lines of what you want the game to be. Looks like it's gonna be fire.

If you're considering to post a reaction/watch along of the Netflix series, might I suggest a certain way this League content creator does (TBSkyen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3vIeaZjbpetjquT ) So what he does is that he only used the audio of his reaction (and his face cam as well in a Vtuber way) with no audio and footage of the show to avoid Netflix/Riot copyright. In the beginning, TBSkyen would start a countdown so that we can press Play from 00:00 together on Netflix. With this way though, you shouldn't pause at all in the middle of watching an episode
