Great video. I would love to see a return to the days of Flite Test , where it was just fun experimenting, with random off the shelf aircraft, like the vlog where you combined A micro trainer with a tiny whoop, after breaking the original motor shaft, or the boneyard challenges, or the parachute planes. It was lighthearted fun, that inspired me to try Similar experiments with whatever aircraft, and materials I had laying around. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the new videos where it is always A new design, or a giant, or bringing back an old design, etc. these videos are entertaining, and I don’t think you should Stop this style, but I would also like to see The old style of lighthearted experiments.

What I enjoy about Flite test and it's product ( airplanes) is you make a mistake, and you don't lose 100s of $ of plane, you just go home, pull out some foam board or the hot glue gun and within minutes you are ready to fly again, and trust me, as a novice flyer, I have downed many planes in my learning times, at a great cost, until I found Flite test

Would you do a video about the new transmitters? I'm sure there are a million videos out there already. I'm a pilot back from the FM days, currently flying 2.4, but I need to move into a newer radio and need it to work with different brand of receivers. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is hesitant to move to the new open source radios??
@FliteTestАй бұрын
We definitely have some videos coming :-) This radio uses the cc 2500 chip which has a ton of different protocols. If you have extra fly sky, Futaba, Graupner, tactic, FR sky, receivers laying around, you are good to go. You can also add a backpack module for even more protocols like ELRS and DSM. Tons of videos to come soon that will share the features of this radio :-)

used gear is for sale all over your community. head to the local flying field and let the folks know you're wanting to get in. You'll be surprised the stash of stuff people keep laying around. We give things back and forth regularly. You'll also trip over group purchase opportunities on market place or craigs list where someone is getting out of the hobby and is selling everything. also, crashing is part of the hobby. Just budget a set amount each month toward the hobby and get used to the fact that we break stuff on the regular when it's not on the ground. "if you're not crashing, you're not flying hard enough" the enjoyment of having something in the air-especially if you built it- far outweighs the cost p.s. grab a kit from these fine folks at Flite Test. They are what we all strive to be in the hobby.

@FliteTestАй бұрын
You can add the backpack module to this radio and get ELRS or wait a few weeks and get the ELRS version of the FT pocket radio coming in the very near future (showboat). This 2500 series is designed specifically for newbies and the classroom so people have flexibility to have many different protocols, but only one transmitter. It makes it much easier on teachers that way and people looking to utilize some older receivers that would otherwise need to be thrown away when you upgrade.
@jasonhurdlow6607Ай бұрын
ELRS isn't as easy to use as a lot of the other protocols out there (esp. for beginners), not as well optimized for fixed wing and PWM, and has fewer options for receivers. It's getting there though, give it another year or two and your statement will be true.
