A decent flat surface would have been much better for traction.Every time you go across a break in the tarmac it's more likely to spin. Blow rear tyres upto 50PSI. Brake boost if you are running in 4th, By holding the brake around 90Km/h and building boost when you let go of the brake car will be off.Get some Nankang AR1's road legal semi slicks.

Yeh but the time in changing gear from 3rd to 4th would make it not worth it. Also if the tires are spinning in 4th they most definitely would spend way more time spinning from 3rd

Try that in 3rd through to 4th. Or plant it from a lower speed in 4th to build a bit more boost up by the time you get to 100 and the timer starts.

Accelerating before 100 defeats the purpose of a 100 - 200 since you're getting momentum. You need to be travelling at a constant 100 then floor it to 200 for the time to count

It happens with any car. I want to go stage 2 with my 16 plate cupra but know it won't end. I bought a MK 7. 5 Fiesta ST years ago and had no intention of going beyond stock. A year later I'd spent a fortune and it was Revo stage 3 with a hybrid turbo😂 (what a laugh that was)

I can see me going down the rabbit hole too... lol thankfully Revo dont support removing the GPF, at least according to their site and I can get 380hp with their stage 1 ron 99 tune alone. So I can see with intake/filter/turbo inlet joint and intercooler swapped out, along with it deresonated it should hit 400ish or + with the GPF and hopefully stay reliable with regular maintanence. I'll likely want more at that point but would likely be looking at RWD or AWD car at that point, would be cheaper than finding a donor car and swapping the cupra.

5.8’s is ultra fast for a car. I just took a look at the BMW S1000RR and that does it in 4.5’s and that can walk a Bugatti Veyron to ~195ish (videos on KZbin for anyone who is interested) so for the Leon to only be 1.3s behind is a massive achievement….I wonder what time you could do on a prepped surface as the car was being hampered by a lack of traction.

Surely doing the entire run in 1 gear negates the fact that it's manual or dsg seeing as though there are no gear changes?

Depends on gear ratios and power bands.

Yea but you will be starting well out of the powerband at like 3500rpm or something and at those revs it will be making no more than 350bhp!! So for like half of the pull it is almost stock!! If it peaks at 607 and doesn't hold that power for much rpm and you start the pull at half way in the rpm producing 350bhp then your average hp for the pull will be around 500 ish hp. But the dsg with 4wd could get much closer to the 607 by keeping the revs in the 607hp band much more of the time

@@robertowen8281 exactly this, automatic transmission control will ensure the engine is always within its peak powerband area. But yes at the same time the auto will be shifting within that time but these days the autos are pretty damn fast at changing so isn't significant

That's really fast for a Polo! How much power it's making? My stage 1 Cupra ST 4drive DSG does 11,89s, and it's around 360-370bhp.

Try an extra 5-10PSI in the rear tyres to reduce rolling resistance. At these speeds some drag reduction mods will help too.

Also it seems like you want more of a rolling start so the power is fully in, starting at 20mph and flooring it, I reckon doing a full on smoking burnout before so tyres are literally sticky too, maybe some softer springs at the worst to soak up the bumps better, that antilag seems like a waste of time 😂

I got a 555Hp setup on ea888 gen.3 But unfortunatly i had issues with oil in the intake-side of the turbo during high load pulls, because of the pressure in the crankcase. I saw u got a "Bartek"- label on it.
