Gotta love Tesla's "groundbreaking engineering solutions" they put a sticker on the control arms to advise wrecker drivers not to hook there. Installing a few "D-rings" or pick up points on the frame would have been the old school way to solve that problem and we can't have that. Also Tesla loves to claim their vehicles have no moving parts besides the motors like they forget about the 637 actuators, pumps, valves louvers and vents for the cooling system.

If you pick any initial build of any car, you'll see that kind of thing... bolts badly torqued, fasteners the wrong way, leaks, even missing stuff. You'd need to spend resources on assembly/disassembly sessions of new products with all people to train them. Corporate middle spheres get a lot of cost-down pressure, so they just have dealers/service centers to deal with defects under warranty work.. the owner doesn't like it? tough. They don't see how BAD a 150k build with defects after a week of ownership really looks like on a 1million+ YT channel.

@@jpinto3912 not nearly to that extent and that consistent among all the products they make. The QC department needs to be fired. A lot of it is just simple poor design and engineering. There is NO EXCUSE for that crap on a car that costs that much. Its embarrasing. Cool tech, but definitely undercuts the argument of many Tesla fans that the cars are simpler than an ICE. I agree that buyers are getting their money's worth for the price, if upscale features like air suspension and monster brakes are must-haves. Much cheaper to buy those in a factory design than a later retrofit, and makes it more valuable decades later as a collector, though few Plaids will live such a delicate life. Some Tesla owners claim no more cooling system issues, but that will likely prove the opposite. The oil leaks bring snickers. A base Model 3, or VW ID.4, is slightly simpler than most gas sedans, though much more expensive. The Leaf is the simplest battery-car (air cooled), but still pricey. Wide adoption requires better and cheaper batteries. That lack is what killed the first GM EV (heavy lead-acid batteries, short range).
