I have a 2018 trd pro, i want to convert to a flat bed, my only thing that’s gone be a pain in the ass is the lights and the camera mount plus the sensors. I’ll learn it as I go though. Haha

That’s how most projects go. Just start building and figure it out as you go 🤷♂️.

what did that mean world's first tacoma flatbed?

Smart design...it keeps the weight/load low and has enough space for wheel travel and i like how Its mounted to the original bed mounts. Question: what gauge and size box tubing did you use?
@Element_Industrial Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty much 1/8” 2x2 on the frame and 1/8” diamond plate. Little on the heavy duty side but don’t really have to worry about sliding into stuff.

@@Element_Industrial but the fact you kept the design simple allowed you to use heavier tubing...i bet it weighs less than the average DIY minitruck flatbed ...most guys use too many crossmembers and forget that the diamond plate top adds alot of stiffness/strength to it overall. Thx for the info!

Cost? And material list? Great job!

Couple sticks of 2x2 tubing, 1 sheet of diamond plate, like 10’ of 2x4 tube, 10’ of 2” pipe, some lights and wiring, 5 cans of spray paint and about 4 days of work. All in all about $1000 bucks in materials
