It's expensive and slow. I think it is more faster if they use conveyors, loading is constant. That huge mechanism takes time to travel while loading and unloading. It's travel after unloading.

Yeah that's mostly the operator, probably had that job for years and has them convinced he's the best when he's pretty slow and wastes a lot of movement, I ran 850's and they're excellent machines!

Ah, the port of Enns a.d. Donau, very nice and clean port. On the other side we unloaded soja not too long ago. The new crane looks a lot better than the old one, only the crane operator needs to work on his speed, with good crane operators on these hydraulic cranes, our barges are unloaded in record time compared to the cable grab cranes in Regensburg for instance.

This is like a Fred Flintstone tech. It's an antiquated method. Too slow , to sloppy and too costly. A system similar to that of the Panama canal where controlled water space can rise and lower . these loaded barges can be made to unload from a higher water level onto their respective vats. Letting gravity do most of the work. Doing it right the first time will save billions in the long run. 🤔

I'd just vacuum that stuff out,,that machine could be modified to hold and move a huge vacuum pipe ,for the fine stuff, its a no brainer ,and dirt cheap comparatively speaking. if thats all it does !!!.I'm guessing they are compromising with a do it all with different attachments machine.....yes there are easier ways to do that one particular job ,but ithink that machine does more than move fines from a to b...you can't have all the toys you go broke
