Hi Bob ! I'm new to modding mouses and I've been meaning to change the switches for my viper ultimate to Kailh Mutes. Would that be possible ? I don't it would since it'd be swapping optic switches to mechanical ones, so I figured I should ask someone who actually knows their stuff. If not, do you have any recommandations for silent switches that would actually fit without too much work ?

ive watched this so many times and still wonder how your non destructive mod is only 64g. i drilled holes and tore up some of the bracing internally, desoldered the right side switches/removed the side buttons, no back cover/led diffuser, and it weighs 64g also with no skates

Update from this year. I just changed the battery, i dont know if its production year or the new battery itself, but u didnt have to switch positive and negative wires. Check it with a multimeter. Saves u time😅

Do you know how to make the charging cable slot larger? I have the RVU but without the charging dock and I'm using the proprietary micro usb cable to charge the mouse. I say "proprietary" even though it's a regular micro usb because Razer design the slot to be extremely small so only their cable can fit in. I'd like to put in a magnetic charging piece in so that the cable just snaps into place when charging but the slot is too small to insert the piece

With the weight reduction I would assume there would be some sort of weight imbalance. But seeing as it's pretty light I doubt it would make much a difference if any at all. I would just like to know personally how much of an imbalance it is.

i would love to get a Razer Viper Ultimate, my biggest issue is that the clicks are kind of mushy from what i’ve tested on my friends Viper Mini. and considering that the optical switches aren’t replaceable, i wouldn’t be able to improve the overall feel of the mouse clicks.

Havne't opened this one so can't really say. Normally you can get 15 to 20g out of them without making it look non stock.

Heya Bob I followed your battery mod but with another 100mA one with only a red and black connector. I got the mouse to work but can't charge the entire mouse after via usb. The charging however works with the stock battery. Must I use the same exact battery in your video?

The amount of effort to print and design it , thats about 2 weeks work if not more. I also prefer the stock plastic as its better quality.

@@Beardedbob just use a 3d scan camera for the OEM plastic housing, tweak it a little and for the 3d printing part you can choose a ton of different materials that increase the sturdiness of the mouse. VS looks of course it takes ages but strength and lightweight would be much better. It was just a suggestion from me and I would have liked to see a video about it ;) Still the viper ultimate is the best mouse around because of the switches, sensor and shape. The mouse deserves a real weight mod that is bringing it back to the N1 place it deserves. Kind regards, Xander

sounds simple eh :-p.... the scan will always need some tweaks and re prints, this all takes time. different materials sure if you have access to all this :-p. to accommodate this new shell we have to spend about 2k in tooling

@@Beardedbob the scan needs tweaks indeed but you can print a 3d scanner with your 3d printer with a simple Logitech webcam. So it can be done easily but it will take some time, but it will also give you good content :D

Hey man, you probably don't need this mouse anymore but at least in the U.S you can buy two broken ones for around 15-30 USD and mash them together (take out the broken pieces and put in good pieces from other mouse) and you'll have a fully working one with spare parts, or a fully working one and a backup semi working one. it's what I did. 30 dollars for two of em and now I have a 130 dollar mouse for only 30. or however much it costs for one.
