Nice gun. I have the 460 Smith Magnum. Its pretty similar in power only the higher grain rounds but the 460 is higher speeds to the energies are similar. X-Frame Smiths are amazing guns. Mine is the ported 5" barrel as in Canada we can't have the 4" or smaller due to laws but awesome none the less. Great video.

Perfect snake watch out for the edge of the cylinder whilst firing , it can take your finger off or worse, because of extremely high psi exiting through the chambers

I tried the small one yesterday... :) Amazing but i got also hit on my lip by filming a friend from behind while he was shooting... So yes crazy gun just for fun to try it once.. otherwise, expensive and the gun get damaged quite fast with that kind of ammunition...

Would you still recommend the longer barrel for a wilderness carry? My .44spl is my wilderness carry now, but I'm buying this for dangerous game defense. So...I was thinking 3.5in barrel. Thoughts?

Jeremy Starr get the shorty for carry, the larger one would be a hassle to walk around with with the added weight. The only difference would be a few FPS slower and lesser range, but in defense distances you have pretty much the same ballistics

why dont you reload the 500 S&W rounds? it would be much more affordable to shoot and you can shoot more rounds... make it even cheaper if you cast your own bullets.

dude I shoot my 4 inch one handed with wood grips. but one question, isnt it dangerous or something to remove the compensator, I also want to try that :)

The way this guy handles these revolvers makes me wonder if he is still alive. Kids and newbies never pick a revolver up with your finger in the trigger guard! Stuff coming out of the cylinder gap and hitting him in the lip at a small indoor range? Never seen that in my 13 years of owning and shooting these Smiths or the BFR 500's with various factory loads. The 2 models in this vid fill 2 very common rolls, the 8.38" for hunting, the 4" for side arm protection in dangerous game territory i.e. Alaska. Worse S&W model 500 video review I've ever seen on KZbin.
