First off, thanks for Flex Lewis for hosting Canada's own World Strongest Man 6:01 "I thought I had about of 25% chance to win" 4:01 "if you know the events, and you know what I'm good at. It was more than perfect performance" 4:45 "there is so much that is not in your control, if you win or lose" 5:09 "winning world strongest man at some stage in your life, changes your whole life" Now think about Derek Poundstone in 2008, and one slip on the final event was the difference between having that one world strongest man win, and not having it.

I can't tell you how glad I am that you talked about standing on that line regarding "am I gonna do this or not" 15yrs ago, I pulled the trigger and it jammed and it was the best thing for me. To feel that I'm glad I got to still be here. And I turned my life around. I was homeless, living in my car, shit job. I pushed and I'm now married, 2 kids, the strongest I've been in my life and I don't plan on stopping. Thanks mitch for using your platform to shed some light on things we struggle with in the shadows. And thank you flex for being on understanding and a real positive influence

15:11 the way Mitch is always preparing and thinking in advance reminds me of Brian Shaw. Very professional and meticulous in his approach. He already has a bright present in strongman, but I am sure there is still a lot more to come.

Very eye opening podcast, the mental health part is deep, personally I have a yin and yang approach to mental health, you don't get happiness without sadness, can't have good times without dark times. Neither state of mind is permanent and you will likely never know when either has ended until you're experiencing the other which can make either one feel like a lifetime. All I can say is even though Mitch didn't know it, the world has become a better place with him in it

The mental health experiences are something I relate to. I am 60 years old. My Mother committed suicide and I had two Fathers die by the age of 11. I have battled depression and a few bouts of suicidal tendencies. I appreciate that Strongman are candid about this. Thank you Mitch, I remember Evan Singleton, Eddie Hall sharing as well, I wonder if this experience is part of what gives them their drives.

What an incredible interview, fascinating and inspiring.... we never really know how other people are suffering at times.... Amazing strength from mitch talking about his mental health struggles...I really feel like a know the man so much better now..... Also major props to Flex for being an excellent interviewer, he has the most important talent required of a great interviewer, and that is the ability to stay quiet and listen....very impressive all round 👏

I love how honest Mitch is. It confuses me that he doesn't believe in God or any kind of reincarnation and still has his thoughts of suicide. Because it's always been my belief in an afterlife that makes me think of suicide. Whether it's heaven or some kind of matrix reset I really do look forward to death and hopefully finding out. But luckily for me(and family and friends) I don't wanna die anytime soon. But I've been in life or death moments in cars and motorcycles and I had a big smile on my face and said, here I come.

That's a rupture in the abdominal wall unfortunately it's a long the Linea alba it can be corrected with stemcells and time away from heavy training and stop abdominal work period. Focus more on internal obliques and transverse muscles the gap in the abdominal will be less but still be there. Avoid heavy deadlifting relearn how to hold your stomach and core.
