I feel so so sorry for whitney... it was SO SAD at the end when you could tell she understood what paul was saying and her mother was shutting all his criticism down... like hello!?!? Your daughter was on the show because you obviously dont know how to parent! This show should be the parents taking parenting classes, not the children, doesnt matter if the kids go to another persons house only to come back to the people who failed them in the first place...

Yes but his attitude wasn't one that looked to de-escalate... All the contrary. Good long listening, patience, perseverance, resilience, respect & love. These are the things strict, but loving parents use to achieve real, long term positive results. Not aggressiveness and getting into kids' faces. They like to say they live by the Bible's teachings, but this dad forgot Ephesians 6:4, that says: "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

It's interesting to see these reuploads and the message that people get from these episodes. The discipline isn't the only thing that goes into the success stories. There's love and thought behind the parents that help these children. They aren't barking orders and getting frustrated with the child. They are firm, but know how to stay calm. They show love to the kids and try to connect with them. Good parenting takes positive actions and effort from both the parent and the child. They magnify the kids flaws, but often don't address any issues that may be causing small disfunctions that may lead to bigger issues. Relationships are complex and can't be viewed from any single perspective.
