@@jamesrobert680 You are right, that was fighting fire with fire and when the husband said that the wife needs to cool down, that was good advice. It goes to the old addage "Cooler Heads Prevail". Now I think it was right to punish the teens, absolutely. However, demeaning them is going to far. You demand they respect you but yet you feel that teens dont deserve respect that they are beneath you. Another adage "Respect is earned not given" I agree with that, the teens need to earn the parent's respect however that goes both ways. By demeaning the teens they are not going to want to respect you because you yourself are showing that you dont respect them.

I'm never sure what to feel when they take the kid's cigarettes away because on one hand, if you let them keep it then they'll take it as ground to walk all over you. If you take it, then they'll have withdrawals and will be naturally pissed and stressed. Why not just get them patches or nicotine gum? There's a million ways for them to not smoke and also not have to go cold turkey.
@RicheeBe
@RicheeBe Жыл бұрын
they’re not their parents . they get too caught up into something they’re not gonna change . second smoking is addictive and withdrawals are shixt . they’d probably get more accomplished by not fighting over things their parents have allowed like this first 4 days

I'm not sure what to think of taking the cigarettes away when they arrive either. Rules are rules (need to be followed) but I can't relate to the withdrawal symptoms people would experience from cutting cold turkey because I've never smoked.

i wonder if taking the cigarettes and "rationing" them out to help with withdrawls would help? or is that considered illegal
@indica321
@indica321 Жыл бұрын
@@danydear4334 These were filmed in the early 2000's so most states probably allowed 18 year olds to smoke. If they were at least 18 (some of them were), then it would've been okay depending on the state. The age in the US to smoke now is 21 everywhere, so if it happened today then it would be illegal. What I'm more curious about is how these underaged teens got alcohol and cigarettes through US and British customs.
