II don't know... I understand with my brain - these are the top of the line strongest players in the world. But at the same time this game was mostly so much "the same and the same" monotonous left to left rallies type of game. Phenomenal mastery, but boring as hell. ) Pardon me.. I think Ma Lin, Xu-Xin, Wang Hao games was so mush more entertaining. No? What I did see here is just very hard job for the players. After 4th set they were already exhausted and I felt sorry for them that they "must continue to play" and entertain the audience. A job.

Somehow i got the impression that Fan Zhendong suffered from some lats pull while playing in game 2 or 3. Notice how stiff his posture became and how much he was sweating even though there wasn't much of long rallies. Also he kept wincing a few times as if he was enduring some pain.

In this video, Adam Bobrow was saying something which I think is 100 % true: "If FZD is playing absolutely loose, it's very hard to control him". In this match (especially the first two sets), FZD seems loose and is playing very aggressive. He was close to perfect in these first two games. That's what I found disappointing when looking at the olympic final, especially considering how mentally tough FZD normally is and how well he performs at crucial points. FZD seemed very nervous which is why he was very passive and not as agile as he usually is.

They both seem fairly unaware to me. The high energy dude seems to be just a fan boy of Ma. Usually in sports the commentator is supposed to be neutral. Almost unprofessional commentary.
