After watching you critique Texas, I can't wait to hear what you have to say about California. Texas is cheap compared to the prices in CA. Plus homelessness is a real problem here

Our big-mid sized cities have homeless issues, too. Think about it: 1. Warmer year round weather 2. Cheaper cost of living. 3. In more left leaning cities like Austin, it's horrendous. However, I have family in SoCal. At least I don't have to dodge poop bombs with a strong aroma of urine situated around a high-rise bldg where the rent is $4,000/mo for a 600 sq ft apartment! 😂

Texas is even more versatile than this video let’s on to. We have the deep pine woods of east Texas, oil wells of Permian Basin in West Texas, vineyards in the panhandle, cattle country in panhandle and other locations in Texas. Pecos, Texas is home to the first rodeo to happen. Tasting rooms of all kinds of wines in Central Texas. Beer brewers near Austin and in the hill country. We have all kinds of cuisine with much Mexican influences throughout the state. Personally I think the best of Mexican food in Texas is in and around El Paso. Be ready for long drives. It’s close to 900 miles from one end to the other in Texas. But know most of us Texans are usually friendly folks. Welcome to Texas, Y’all!!

Your comment about "vineyards in the panhandle" seems wrong. Did you mean "vineyards in the hill country" ?

@@jamesgoode9246 we do have a lot of tasting rooms in the hill country and some vineyards. But most of the vineyards in Texas are in the panhandle
@jamesgoode92463 ай бұрын
@@ednakrueger8381 -- Interesting -- So, are the grapes grown there and then transported to Hill Country wineries, or does the Panhandle have wineries that I've failed to notice. or maybe both?
@ednakrueger83813 ай бұрын
@@jamesgoode9246 most of the grapes are processed up in panhandle then transported to hill country. Texas has become either 2nd or 3rd in the country for among tasting rooms and wineries. I belong to the Texas Wine Society and we have meetings to not only taste good wines from all over but to educate the public on wine. Been in the West Texas chapter (Permian Basin) for about 20 years. If you live in Texas look the organization up and join us. We have a yearly meeting of all our chapters where we learn, eat and drink great wines and visit areas involved in Texas wine industry. It’s fun and made good friends out of it.

Why would you say everyone hates Texas. That is a lie right off the bat. I hate when these sights say such things. Texas is my home and I love it here. There are things that are negative about it but anywhere there things about each state you could find not so good. It is terrible that someone could speak so negatively about places. Don't get me wrong I did like most your documentary as it was pretty informative. Just the message used to draw people into looking at this was a very negative statement.

World Travel Guide, though it's on the screen for a second or 2, it would have been a good viewer service to have explained how "Gruene" came to be pronounced "Green". I'll do it in your place. It's because there used to be a good-sized group of German-speaking Texans living in this region of the state, until the German language fell into disfavor as a result of Hitler, and thus faded quite a bit. "Gruene" is the German spelling of the color. Yes, I did enjoy your "slightly sarcastic" overview of the state, and I couldn't find anything to tempt me to join the "everyone" crowd which hates Texas.

@@RealWorldTravelGuide, hello again. I just found this during a visit to Wikipedia: Gruene is nowadays part of .New Braunfels = BRAWN-fulls (located in the German-settled area near San Antonio, and named after a German city--BROWN-felce). San Antonio, which had tons of Mexicans, also had a lot of Texas Germans at the time (1840s), one of which was an Ernst Gruene, for whom the town is named.
