My husband and I will be visiting Split, Croatia 3 months from now but I don't think we will be able to see the most beautiful places featured in your video because 8am to 5pm while the Cruise ship is docked for the day is not enough. We would like to see at least Krka National Park but the day trip takes longer than we are allowed to stay. You mentioned that it is closer if maybe we rent a car. Can you elaborate more on that option? By the way, your video is amazing and very informative. Thank you for sharing.
@worldwildhearts Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yeah that’s not so much time to visit Split unfortunately… it’s possible to rent a car from split and drive to Krka indeed, which is about an hour drive. In Krka, you could visit Skradinski Buk (the other places are an additional 40 mins of driving). Just keep in mind that Split is bigger than you might think and there’s definitely some traffic getting in and out of the city. Once you’re out, it will be fine! Check rentalcars to see if they have some rental cars available that aren’t too far from old town. You could try to visit Krka during the morning and then spend 2 hours in the old town of the city at the end of the day before the ship leaves. The old town is pretty small and the ships are usually docked right in front of the Riva!

You guys made such a great video, that I am really interested jn visiting Croatia now 🙂 I know you guys have been in portugal also, so I would like to ask you, if you would have to chose one of the two countries to live in, which one will be and why?
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
That’s a really tough question! Both countries have things we like… great climate, affordable, lots of thing to do and places to explore. But I think Portugal might be the winner in terms of the food, the language is easier to learn, it’s better connected to other places in Europe, and the overall city atmosphere to live in is better. It’s vibrant and has a larger community of expats (at least that’s how it felt!). But both are great! 😉 you should definitely visit!
@loredanachiriac12 жыл бұрын
@@worldwildhearts thanks a lot for your quick reply. A very good thoughtful one, I would say. Really helpful. I know that Croatia got popular in the last 10 years or so, and in the same time more expensive. Portugal is also getting more and more popular, isn't it? But for some reasons I guess it is not yet too expensive?
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
Portugal is getting popular too! The food there is generally cheaper than Croatia, but the accommodation prices are the same. Accommodation is still reasonable compared to Northern Europe… Fuel is more expensive in Portugal and they also have a lot of toll roads. In Croatia, there aren’t as many toll roads (but they still have a few). Maybe it also changes a bit depending on the season. October turned out to be the perfect month to visit Croatia and we probably saved a lot of money compared to the summer season!
