My Vector Space arrived today (still waiting on the Sound Stage). This module is an absolute joy to use! I set up the Timbral Garden patch using a Studio Electronics Oscillation, with the triangle, saw, and sub outs feeding the Vector Space. Then I ran two outputs into the Disting running dual reverbs. Added Intellijel Quadra to a Make Noise Dynamix. Superb sound! Now I have to figure out how to incorporate the LRMSMSLR into the mix. Thanks for this inspiring demo, I couldn't be happier with the decision to add this to my setup!

These are the kind of modules that I absolutely think need more exposure. There's so many possibilities you can get out of them. "Hey look a new low-pass filter!" Yes... nice... not thrilling... but nice... But THIS... this makes me want to crack open the wallet. I really wish you'd open a store under DivKid and the manufacturer would ship you a dozen units on consignment. That would be so much better than Patreon.

Agreed - modules like this are what modular are all about - new and bizarre ways to modulate parameters and create sounds you couldn't scheme up on your own. It enhances the idea of just experimenting with patching to see what happens.

The store thing has come up before but I have absolutely no desire to start running a store at all. Patreon is a separate thing that some people want to support, which is greatly appreciated, but I also appreciate it's not for everyone. Just keep watching and commenting if you want to support.

I saw this module at a local synth meetup. It turned 3 different shaped LFOs into total mathematically proportional madness. This is on my actually must buy list.

This is seriously next-gen stuff. While it's obviously a monster for creating generative patches, if this is paired with switches and mixers, I could see this saving a lot of mental bandwidth for live performances: Just change the three inputs and switches as your performance surfaces, and this generates complexity that would be seriously hard to manage on your own in a busy patch/mix/performance. The results are incredibly musical!

Absolutely it's so useful for so many things and just managing signals and letting something create and give you new variations.

The Timbral Garden patch makes me think how neat a bunch of those outputs into like the WMD Subway would be. Just crossfade through all of them. I wonder what it would sound like crossfading through at audio rates from yest another related output?
@DivKid
@DivKid Жыл бұрын
Yeah nice! That would be great, smooth slow morphing through them would be lovely. Audio rate would be interesting, AM/ring mod like overtones all over the place.

Guess what my next module is going to be! What a great bit of kit, very simple concept but you can get some seriously complex things out, used in conjunction with things like sequential switches and voltage addressed switches it adds a whole new dimension to patches!
@DivKid
@DivKid 6 жыл бұрын
yeah add some over utilities and you're totally off in another world of patching.

Very interesting. I really like the look of this. I’m new to Eurorack. But I love the idea of splitting a few inputs and getting all these possibilities out. Very cool.

I think I want one. Only one module in my rack so far (and the Phenol). But this one really appeals to me. More so than some of the more 'standard' (standard?!!) modules I've been looking in to. After watching your videos, and the Molten Modular channel, I'm getting a feel for which modules to go for next. It's a journey though. With a good amount of experimentation.

That random voltage patch reminds me a lot of a track on the new Autechre album. Great video as per usual. I really really wish my rack had the necessary space for one :(

To be honest i dont know what it does after this video, would have helped to compare in/out waveforms, maybe with multiple mordax datas or sth. Anyway i would need the opposite, i have way more modulation sources than targets and rather look for ways to sequence/mix/distribute them - not to multiply.

Thanks! Without knowing anything for sure, isn't this a bit like a simpler more hardwired version of the Coherence module from Metabolic Devices? Anyway I think it looks awesome and easy to grasp after watching this video. Thanks a lot Ben!
@akaleri
@akaleri 6 жыл бұрын
Ah, I just saw that Coherence only has two inputs.

@DivKid
@DivKid 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'd like to do a Coherence video, not spoke to Metabolic Devices though and I don't have one. I don't think the modules are that similar, but maybe there's some cross over.
@akaleri
@akaleri 6 жыл бұрын
@@DivKid Yeah, after doing a little more research on the Coherence module, I see what you mean. But I guess they both do CV based on the relationship between different sources. Vector Space does stuff without multiple inputs though, but I'll be looking forward to the video nonetheless.
@DivKid
@DivKid 6 жыл бұрын
No plans to do a Coherence video currently as I have plenty of other things planned out so it'll be a while before I think about it unless they get in touch.

So basically, it's taking a random CV input and randomizing it again, output influenced on where it is placed in the 3D space?
@Koettnylle
@Koettnylle 6 жыл бұрын
Afaik you can feed it any type of waveform
@KevinPrice
@KevinPrice 6 жыл бұрын
I don’t think there is anything random about it, but it’s delightfully chaotic!
@worng_electronics
@worng_electronics 6 жыл бұрын
D B Pawlan you can feed it any voltage from constant CVs up to audio rates, from -10V to +10V. The outputs aren’t random, with a given set of inputs you’ll always have the same outputs, but the relationships between inputs and outputs can get quite complex. Have a look at the manual for a fairly good explanation of how it all works. 👍🏻
@DivKid
@DivKid 6 жыл бұрын
As Morgan says below it's totally replicate-able and consistent. I used random as just one example but it will always give you 17 outputs that are unique but totally related to the 3 inputs.

Is that a polyester panel?
@worng_electronics
@worng_electronics 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, the panel is made from metal-plated FR4 fibreglass, similar to a lot of other modules. The texture of the panel is accentuated by the lights in this video, we think it looks really nice in person.
@DivKid
@DivKid 6 жыл бұрын
As WORNG said below the coated FR4 is really common in the euro world for panels.
