To help you with the lineup I have created sa short summary. Lineup and changes: 2010 Su-metal Moametal, Yuimetal, Original Trio. 2018 Yui leaves for health reasons. One of the things that impresses me with the dynamic between the girls and the band, is that the band makes space for the vocals to shine, and show their power between the vocals. The dynamic and interaction between them is what alot other bands lacks. Also the separation between the instruments, and not being one big giant noise blending together.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this very performance at the venue where and when Momoko, the tallest girl, was inducted into BABYMETAL officially. Yes, she had a headset mic for the first time like Moa has had since BM's inception. I sang the ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Momometal with my loudest voice in the show holding my phone. What a bliss! The flying drones with cameras that enabled the beautiful aerial cinematograph were manipulated by experts including Ms. Shiraishi. She is a member of team Japan for World Drone Racing Championship. Our Kami Band played in the girls' back. They have supported BABYMETAL since 2019. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support like knights by Chris (g), CJ (g), Anthony (d), Clint (b) and Ryan (b). They are really unsung heroes. (In this video, Cling is the bassist.) Anthony is my favorite drummer.

Nice one! This is easily one of my favorite Babymetal songs. You’ll appreciate it even more once you look up the lyrics: The song talks about facing an immense tragedy, a “Monochrome Fireworks”, that robs one of Hope (Star that fades) or a loved one (Love’s warmth that vanishes). Yet, despite facing their “end of the world” (Ragnorak), the protagonist finds the will to move forward to “illuminate the world with rainbow colors”. Because, “No matter how long the night, the morning will arrive. Just smile!” Amazing… Suggestion: *YAVA! (Legend MM)* - You’ll find a good version from “For The Fox God” channel with the Kami West intro, showing off each musician’s solos befor this groovy and bouncy Ska inspired metal song kicks in! 🤘🦊

Welcome back to the Foxhole and now with the new metalverse era, it's been a while.🦊🤘🌐 You're jumping a big gap after your last BM reaction and leaving a big hole in BM history, either way this is a nice song to enjoy from latest album and the most played at live shows. Monochrome is another beautiful track from latest album, it was the 2nd single released in November 2022 and there's an official lyrics video really cool if you wanna enjoy the studio album version, later in 2023 right before this show they released the Piano Version at The First Take surprising everyone with another stunning and beautiful one off stripped down version. The lyrics got some Norse mythology reference and when the lyrics vid came out there were many theories around, later they said they were surprised about it and saying they just wanna give a hopeful song. Here's some official info: _"One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is MONOCHROME and this 2nd pre-release digital single “Monochrome” centers around this theme. From the eyes of the children, what color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky? This song expresses the hopeful wish on Ragnarok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors."_ This was live at BabyMetal Begins - PIA Arena MM Clear Night, Yokohama on April 2, MomoMetal first concert as an official member (she's the new official member after YuiMetal left the group in 2018 and she's on the left, on the right is MoaMetal one of the original members, if you're not sure always look for her dimples), you can notice SuMetal speaking to them in the middle section and giving that recognition. They got this magical moment when performing live in every setlist they did throughout the recent World Tour 2023/2024 and they're keep rocking with this song everywhere they go. You can also enjoy the live premiere version at Makuhari Messe 2023 with the East Kami Band playing unlike this one with the West Kami Band, both equally good, just different flavors to enjoy. The composer behind this song is the same one behind Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Kagerou, the arrangement of Megitsune and also behind Believing from this same latest album, you should really not miss those songs. Next suggestion: - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 official live. I love this performance and was really excited to see your reaction to it. You did not disappoint. Always very observant and thoughtful. I very particularly pleased to hear how-my take at least-of not getting so caught up in the how and why of Babymetal. But rather focusing on what they're putting out. Their story however is more compelling than you might think. Babymetal have had primarily two drummers for the duration of their career. Hideki Aoyama roughly 2013-2019. A japanese speed metal in particular specialist. Whose father was a famous Japanese drummer, Yamaha drums I believe. And the drummer here Anthony Barrone among other things pushing new limits of speed and precision (pretty evident in this performance). He's been playing with Babymetal 2019-present. He plays DW drums and has played with a number of bands including: Anthrax, Lamb of God and Meshuggah

Great reaction, thanks! Definitely, Anthony Barone doesn't joke playing drums. He's probably my favorite drummer right now. You are right, I've experienced the phone lights scene in basically all the BABYMETAL shows I attended to (both in large arenas and smaller venues) and it has been always amazing. All 3 versions of Momochrome (MV, First Take piano, live) are deeply moving in different ways, especially in context of the song lyrics. Lots of accompanying KZbin comments to read up after watching each of these clips. Su-metal has expressed surprise at the overwhelmingly poignant fan reactions, saying it is supposed to be a song about staying hopeful. (BM always sings about positivity.) Momochrome has also started to become many newer converts' favorite, much like Road of Resistance was for older jaded metalheads in the second half of the 2010s.

kiino001 answered your question regarding Momometal, full name Momoko Okazaki (21 years old, she got a phenomenal birthday concert in March this year! It was called "Legend MM", two nights), the "old" new member. She did backup dancing for BABYMETAL since 2019, as "Avenger", one of three backup dancers they recruited in order to re-establish the triangle formation from their beginning. Before that, they tried out several different dancing formations, but that didn´t work out very well, so they went back to the "trio". For quite a long time a growing number of fans demanded to make her a full member, as she fits nicely into the trio and has a good chemistry with Su-Metal and Moametal. The night before the performance you watched she was announced as the new member. She is great, and I think we will see (and hear) much more from her! You should try "BABYMETAL Death" from the same concert, PIA Arena Clear Night 2023, the first time this was performed again after 2017 (for a reason). The crowd is quite special in this performance 😉 "Slipknot meets the Mickey Mouse Club"... or, as some fans say "The teenage girl version of Slipknot" 😆 Btw., BABYMETAL performs at "Knotfest" in Brazil, and as special guest at the Slipknot headline concert in Mexiko City this year.

Hideki Ayeoma and Anthony Barone have done the majority of drumming for BABYMETAL. Hideki with the Eastern Kamis and Barone with the Western Kamis,or the AneriKamis as some of the fans call the Western Kamis 😂. This time around on the PIA Arena version it's Barone

@@teckreactions I am prochoice but I really appreciate the understated way you plugged the diapers. Pro life is extremely important. I think we can all agree that the best thing would be for nobody woman to need to make that choice, you made an important point without beating anyone over the head. Another thing I really like is the way you are able to remain open minded artistically, a lot of worship leaders cant really give credit where its due because the message takes precedent over the music. Let me rant for a second. Christian worship music has a real problem. Unlike other kinds of music christian songwriters dont make much money from concerts or album sales. They make most of their money from publishing. The more churches that play their songs on sunday morning the more money they make This gives them a financial incentive to write songs that are easy for almost any worship band to play. This is why Christan worship music can be very boring. Its written not to challenge anyone musically. Obviously Im generalizing. So I think its a very good sign to see someone like you analysing secular music. I would love to hear some worship music that borrows from Hendrix. I think a lot of congregations would too. This is Anthony Barone while they wear naaks we know on general who played in what concert. Certainly, they use a lot of drone images and hire especially qualified pilots. This was Momos first day as a Babymetal and therefore kept her distance but Su doesn't allow this for a full member. For her this is something like a sister. And even if she is shy she won't accept this distance.

Nice reaction. Left to right as we look as you asked: Momo - new member who was originally one of the avengers who danced to balance the choreography, but didn't sing, after Yui had to leave. She became an official member on 1st April 2023 and now also sings. Su - original member and lead vocal Moa - original member You're right about the fuller sound. It's noticeable on the more recent lives that there's more 'depth' to the music compared to to the earlier arrangements. Both are good just different. And yes that was a camera drone flying around. Next I'd suggest going back to the early years maybe Headbanger Legend of 1997 Apocalypse or Megitsune official MV.

@@teckreactions There seems to be a different attitude to health and safety. If you watch some of the Budokan 2014 videos Su rises around 15 feet on a small stage with no safety rails. During one of these shows Yui actually fell off the stage prompting the addition of barriers the next night.

@@teckreactionsDrones are certainly being used more and more. Just attended Upheaval this past weekend and they had one flying around during quite a few of the sets. For this specific performance though, I believe the pilot of the drone is a DRL champion pilot, so likely not much of a risk with the skill set they have with drones.

Years ago, initially it took me a while to really "get" their sound, BUT what eventually attracted me to BABYMETAL songs is that they are HEAVY as F, have great solos, and usually have a positive message. There are a ton of great songs by other artists that I love instrumentally, but the messages or lyrics are always just too dark or negative for me to enjoy. Now that Momometal can growl, I hope they add more growls to their songs because I do like some growling too. 🤘🦊🤘

This is a forward-looking and optimistic song about the bombing of Nagasaki, which is quite a feat. For your own entertainment watch the "First Take" version, which is stripped right down to vocals and piano/strings - no need to react (unless you want to, of course). It has English subtitles if you want them. I saw BM perform this in Leeds and I agree the phone lighting is an experience, as is hearing the whole venue doing the oh-oh-ohs.

We did tell you that there was more to them than meets the eye in your first reaction. Good that you carried on and found out for yourself. I think this exact performance should be the default first request for any reactor instead of things like Gimmie Chocolate. It save a lot of time, trying to explain to them they have done things like this and are not permanently trapped as kids in the year 2013 like some people imagine they are. However i think the mickey mouse club line is being overused now, as Su is 25 in this video, so it's sounds patronising. It wasn't a good comparison to begin with anyway.

I agree. I think it gets really confusing, perhaps even off putting introducing Babymetal to people with cuts from 10 or more years ago. Let them see how powerful and exciting Babymetal are now. Then I think they'll appreciate the early stuff and journey in a much fuller way.

@@robote7679 Yes, it would make Gimmie Chocolate seem fun and intresting afterwards if you know they can do something like Monochrome beforehand. Some people may be OK with GC. But others will jump to a mass of conclusions, and fans are then forced to go into misconception clean up mode. It's doing the fansbase a favour as well, as i don't think anyone likes having to defend things rather than explain them, because it makes you feel like you sound like you are making excuses up for them or even pleading with the reactors to give them another chance. We recently saw that foul-mouthed, tiny-brained idot use GC to bait and gaslight the Babymetal fanbase. I think he thought he was pleasing his Band-maid reacton subscribers buy creating a hate sink for them, but it backfired. But he still knew exactly which video to pick and what he thought he should say to do it. GC is a good song but it can be used to distort their image. It's meant to be part ironic parody of Kawaii culture, some people won't understand that it if they think it's supposed to be their most important song. Songs like Monochrome or Megitsune are their most important songs.

If it's the one I'm thinking of he had actually turned off comments by the time I got there. Which was frustrating to say the least. The jerk was as big a cretin as I've ever seen do a Babymetal reaction...and that's saying something. p.s. Sadly any number of newcomers simply go by views rather than doing a little research. And most of them seem to have no idea that GC is over 10 years old. Which makes it an even more confusing experience for them. Sigh!

Gimmie Chocolate was never a good 1st anyway, it turned off many especially metal fans. Sure some liked it but many were just nope. Old songs that were better were Rondo, Megitsune or IDZ.

@@tackle47 In the end I believe it's the views that drive people to that video. Tank the Tech recently did a video on bands that were great for introducing people to metal. Under the four songs he recommended for BM he also had BC. I was a little disappointed to say the least.

Great performance - unfortunately the lead-in (which DEFINITELY helps set the scene rather than just throwing the drums straight in - but truer to the iriginal I guess.....) is cut out in this version but otherwise it's really good, my fav. track by them easily. fyi: your _Monochrome_ experience is not complete until you've seen the First Take piano version (just make sure to turn on subtitles). if you look closely, they have the OMV playing on the screen behind them -- the OMV has some powerful imagery that warrants a look (no reaction necessary, just for your own time)

It's not the same drummer, they are using a different band than the time period you reacted to before. It's one of the reasons I would have suggested PIA Arena 2023 version of Road of Resistance before the older Live in Japan one. The newer performance of it is more technical as well. The guitarists are Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio, bassist is Clint Tustin, and the drummer is Anthony Barone. That was a drone, another reason I would suggest new performances. The cinematography and audio production have all improved, it's been over ten years after all. So the PIA Arena 2023 concerts are excellent. I recommend the new Legend MM 2024 concerts as well. I would suggest the performances of Syncopation and YAVA! with Kami band intro from the concerts. Though not the official channel version YAVA! as it cuts the Kami band intro. Also, from PIA Arena 2023 I suggest Mirror Mirror and Divine Attack.

👍 👍 This is your first reaction to a performance featuring the West Kami Band made up of world class musicians from the U.S. which includes three from the band Galactic Empire of which drummer Anthony Barone is one. The West Kami Band began performing with Babymetal in 2019 (primarily on tours in Europe and the U.S. because members of the East Kami's had scheduling issues due to projects of their own. Both the East and West Kami's love and respect the ladies because of their talent, discipline, work ethic and character and both bands are devoted to them.
