How God wrote my story has been so profound, but capturing it in words feels impossible. I made this video weeks ago hoping to share the experience, but even after countless rewrites, I just can't express it fully.
As I filmed this video, a memory unfolded before me. It was three months before my radical encounter with Christ back in 2001. I was a young international student living on the edge of San Francisco's Tenderloin District. One night, unsettling noises and disturbances filled my kitchen. Dark supernatural forces were at play. This was familiar to me as I grew up experiencing the demonic as my family worshiped idols. I tried to ignore what was going on, but the unease lingered. I had never read the Book of Revelation, I couldn't have known the significance at the time. But then, a dream unfolded. A figure of immense power and righteousness rode on a white horse. In that moment, an unshakeable feeling of rescue washed over me. Though I didn't recognize his name, I knew with absolute certainty that God himself was riding to my aid.
Three months later, the encounter with the Holy Spirit changed the course of my life. It wasn't until another three months had passed, while reading the Book of Revelation, that the full weight of that dream dawned upon me. The figure on the white horse-none other than Jesus Himself.
Revelation 19:11-16
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
king of kings and lord of lords.
