There are times when you just feel that you are listening to another part of your heart. Ive watched many many videos on worship guitar. This brother is a gifted teacher and player. I am going to save up some money and join his lifetime classes. I thank you my brother for all you do. Your blend of teaching guitar and the Word of God is so refreshing. I hope one day to understand the neck and the soul of worship like you do. God bless you!

Thanks for this! Putting names to the 4-2 and 1-2 and 10th voicings is really good, I've used them but never really processed 'what they are'. Also - these can definitely be played as double-stops (closed and muted, just the 2 note diads), but I encourage everyone to try using capo to get in a position that takes all the sharps/flats (or at least, the most used ones in your song) out of your given key in a song, and playing appropriate open strings with these diads. Example: Battle Belongs in Bb, capo 3 for G position. You can play the chorus in the 4-2 voicings with the Bb (3rd string) ringing open. Also, the big opening riff you can let the same string ring open with the octaves. These sound really huge and full with little complexity, plays really nice with worship style effects, especially if you need to fill a lot of space as the electric guitar in your specific ensemble.

When can it ve ok in worship to play exotic soloing? I wish so. It should sound like fire .
@ScoobyDoo-kt9pv3 ай бұрын
Woa I don't get to play in church because I get kicked out ... That's lame it's just old gossip floating around. But I always try, I am attempting to be an all around pro musician not to be pro but just to be successful at what I do, music ... I play guitar mostly and play piano and I'm ok at singing but I own drums and I'm bad at that. The churches sometimes say they might let me play. But ... Politics and getting kicked out usually make it hard. Town talk. Stories. Sad it's that way. But this is the best video on triads etc for worship songs. Personally I think it's a great unlock. For worship songs though I usually try to do a short melody phrase myself but I think you are totally in it. I really like the 2-4. I use triads and diads but I more or less use natural and pentatonic. Maybe one day a church will allow me to be seen and not kicked out.
@ScoobyDoo-kt9pv3 ай бұрын
I always have to worry when I go to churches about getting kicked out as soon as I show up. But ... Whatever man ... No e if the stories are even true. What I can say is those diads are really understated which is good I guess you also have quite the expensive set up. I'm still paying on mine and it's very inexpensive. Because my other gear was stolen. But yeah ... Maybe one day I won't be this toxic mutant I'm really handsome and good looking but the town talk though even untrue even is super bad.

Would this diad lesson be useful for acoustic guitar with a big sky pedal
@WorshipGuitarSkills3 ай бұрын
Hi @mikefojas5064 I think when playing only 2 notes at a time (Diads), it tends to work better with more sustain in your tone. So for acoustic I don't think it will work as well as for electric, but I do think it will definitely help you with your overall guitar knowledge and will definitely help you work your way up the fretboard. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

@@WorshipGuitarSkills Ohh thank you sir🥲It's really hard to learn this kind of things for beginners like me🥲I have electric guitar for a year ,but I can't even strum it
@ED-wj5tp2 ай бұрын
Good things to know , if I could add , playing in a group that would allow the electric guitar to be used doesn’t make that instrument the lead instrument. It should be played as an accompanying sound. And what kills the sound more than anything is,……..wait for it………everyone playing 100% of the time at 100% volume, during a song. Just stop doing that , please. And sound board guys this falls on you as well. Music should ebb and flow. One thing to know , especially in smaller churches, when a song comes to an acappello moment, don’t completely stop playing, learn how to play softly to keep things moving. You want people to stop singing, stop playing, guaranteed the voices will drop out. While I’m at it…..you with the big loud great voice, learn it’s not all about you, and blend your God given talent with those less fortunate, it’s a congregation singing, not a Celine Dion concert .
@WorshipGuitarSkills2 ай бұрын
@ED-wj5tp I agree with what you're saying about playing 100%. It's definitely a skill to know when to play and to overplay. Thanks for watching.
