Update: had my pod go for a few months now, and have downloaded about 4 or 5 patches from WT. their 2 free patches, AC30 FREE and Swells, are truly a solid-sounding worship rig that gives you everything you need. 5 stars. I bought the ‘66 AC30 patch (more vintage sound, a bit more lifelike/ realistic), and the DMBL patch, and absolutely love both of them. Could not recommend more. Brian and Bradford are a blessing to the worship community, and they make some seriously dope patches!

Are the patches just settings of already existing sound modules? If so they should be free. Or are those things new content added into the device?
@connorchambless70623 жыл бұрын
@@blastofo hey C K! That’s a good question. I think the only things brought in outside of the Helix library is the Tone Junkie third-party IR’s. I think everything else is the settings, programming, and setup of the patches. But what they are able to create with a sorta limited platform like the Pod Go rivals a lot of good helix/ Fractal patches for a fraction of the price. These guys do this full-time, and they are able to create sounds that I might never achieve with years of play testing. And for that, it’s worth the $5 or whatever I paid for them. Hope this helps man!

I have a tip for you on this one. Buy a Line6 Catalyst amp - it already had built in Helix amp, reverb, and delay simulations (or pitch effects) and channel switching, which you can use for an alternative config. Then, you can run a Pod Go into it for effects (just turn off the amp/cab simulation). So all your OD/distortion pedals. This is a pretty versatile setup.

If you're a simple guitar player who doesn't stray from the same sounds (likely a straight forward rhythm player and/or worship leader who occasionally plays electric), this is for you. If you want more flexibility but still use a number of 3rd party pedals, get the stomp. If you want all the flexibility in the world, get the Floor. Regardless, this can work for anyone, especially for travelers or people who want the assurance of an easy backup rig.

It's worth noting that there are patches on custom tone that will allow you to get rid of the volume, wah, fx loop, and eq. That'll leave you with just amp and cab and like 9 blocks to use. Note: this doesnt change the amount of dsp you have. It does however give you more flexibility when making presets. Type in spare blocks on custom tone.

I'm a subscriber. I play EG and AG in a relatively small church, so I play every Sunday, either one of those. We either go with 4 or 5 musicians, so basic member config. I have a Boss ME-70 for 11 yrs, and lately, has been a little unreliable, like yesterday where I wound up unplugging it and going direct into the DI Box! Bad boy, Boss! haha...SO, yesterday afternoon, I ordered this unit---delivery date is this SAT. Even with the Boss, I only used a small portion of its capability, SO, I think this unit, which I also got On Sale for $375!, will do just fine------compressor, occasional overdrive, plus reverb and delay, and the Vol Pedal will probably suffice. I go pretty Clean in this church. I think I'd freak 90% of the congregation if I even used a Fuzz! haha But I DO intend to work up some Swells settings. My hardest decisions will come from the MORE THAN I NEED Choices for some of these even in this unit! ONE of the main reasons I went with a Line 6 unit, is because of your offers on Preset downloads for some songs, so I'll also look to your website. Looking forward to playing with and through my new toy! PS....I also did the "Mega-church WT thing" but now really prefer a smaller sized church. THANK YOU!

Hey bro Which do you recommend for the church? which is more versatile or more complete, I don't know whether to buy the pod go or the hd500x?
@erickdelgado32594 жыл бұрын
Randy Hernández Oficial hey, man! I think it totally depends on your use case. I’ve heard the HD500x is pretty versatile and sounds good, although I can’t vouch for that myself as I’ve never used one. I’ve been mostly a direct-in guy with some sort of cab sim, and played with an amp and effects for some time, too. I like the PodGo cuz it sounds great and allows me to cover a good amount of ground. I used to lead our worship ministry, and there were times when I switched between acoustic, rhythm electric guitar, or lead. I think the PodGo definitely gives you that versatility at a good price point. You may want to factor in the limited amount of blocks, although there is an FX loop if you need to add maybe a compressor and save up a block in the PodGo. I bought mine through sweetwater and they give you a chance to return your purchase if it didn’t fit your needs. I hope that helps. Good luck!!
@pratyulmusic3 жыл бұрын
Hi how satisfied are you with Pod Go...I am on fence wether go for this or higher models like HX stomp because of pararlell effects it can do and more blocks.
@erickdelgado32593 жыл бұрын
@@pratyulmusic hi, sorry for the late response. I’m definitely a fan of the PodGo and the sounds totally hold up against it’s more expensive counterparts. However, I totally think it depends on your use case. If you are hoping to expand and be able to achieve more sounds, I’d probably go with the Stomp (I have one, too) as it was designed to be incorporated into a larger rig, with amps at the end or as just an effects unit. The PodGo is definitely more of an all in one type of unit, although you do have an FX loop and can add effects through the guitar input as you would another pedal. This may be a good spot for a compressor or a fuzz type pedal that typically goes earlier in the chain. I do think you should also consider that you get 4 customizable blocks because the other 6 are set in stone. So, this may be fine if you are looking to accommodate and overdrive, modulation, delay and reverb. I don’t typically use compressors so I can fit those in the PodGo. I would recommend setting up a switch to change the gain and volume parameters as a sort of boost/overdrive to save a block for a chorus or trem or other effect you may like. With the Stomp, all 6-8 are up to you. If you are looking to do parallel effects like on a bass, I’d probably go the HX Stomp route. If you are based in the US, I purchased my PodGo from Sweetwater which allows for returns and their customer service has been top notch in my experience. To close, in my experience as a worship guitarist the PodGo has been entirely satisfactory and has been more than enough to get me through a typical set, and is definitely helpful when leading as you don’t need many different sounds that your electric guitarist is responsible for. But, I have to admit, it is nice to branch out with the stomp to get creative with different pedals and sounds. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out again. I hope I can help answer some questions and I’m sure everyone else in the comments can prove a great resource. Have a great day!!

@@erickdelgado3259 thank you . I like POD go too but I heard parallel processing is a must to acheive big vast ambient delay/ reverb sounds. How true is that ?. This is a little long but if you're on the fence about modeling this could be a worthwhile read. I bought one of these for late night practicing through headphones and the occasional fly gig/jam. It sounds so good to me that it has become my main rig, but there’s an important catch- I bypass the cab sims and put it straight into the fx loop return of my Bad Cat Cub 15R because, let’s face it, FRFR systems cannot recreate the “amp in a room” sound. Although I’m not about to part with my Eventide H9, the effects on board are good to excellent. I’m still pretty floored by how uniformly great this setup sounds. Just so you don’t think I’m some easily impressed noob, I’ve been playing since the early 80’s and own or have owned great amps by the likes of Mesa (at least 6), Carr, Friedman, Budda, Fender CS, Orange, Rivera, Revv, and so-on. I’ve had my favorites from these brands and I can really say that the Pod Go into my Bad Cat’s fx loop return puts as big a smile on my face as any of the above amps. Maybe I just got lucky and the Bad Cat just happens to “like” the Pod Go and it’s a great combination just by chance? Eventually I’ll pull out other amps to find out. I also think it’s important to mention that in my experience it doesn’t sound good into the front of an amp which makes sense given that you’re putting a modeled preamp into a real preamp in this scenario. Modeling has really come of age IMHO. If you’re tired of lugging a big rig around and you’re intrigued by modeling but don’t like the FRFR experience you should consider this kind of setup. You may be very surprised. Oh yeah, the day after I bought this I got an email from Fractal as I'd been on their waiting list for the past 6 months for a FM3. With all the confidence that I was making the right choice and zero regret to date, I told them I was going to pass. YMMV

In my main patch on my stomp I use a dual delay that is set normally to a 1/8 note at low mix and in stereo, but then a switch jumps the mix and pans it left, while right channel is filled with a dotted 8th that is otherwise at 0% mix. Can you do that here? If so, I honestly don't think this is any more limiting than the HX Stomp when it comes to capability. You already can't use a big verb and the tone sovereign at once in that, and if you use IR you're already using 2 of the 6 blocks (looks like an 8 block update is coming!) and have 4 remaining, but don't get the benefit of always having a volume, Wah, EQ and FX loop available. I have overdrives running in front of my Stomp to compensate for the fewer blocks, but this seems to always have an FX loop I could run them in. Frankly, this would probably have been better for me. As it stands, I don't have an loop or a volume.

Sounds great. It’s a HUGE marketing mistake (in my opinion) on L6’s part to reintroduce the “POD” nomenclature to the Helix line. This is a Helix Mini. Why not call it that?
@TruffulaTreeGTR4 жыл бұрын
Helix floor is way more than just a modeler. The Helix interface is set apart from the rest of the modeling market by the advanced FX routing, I/O, midi switching system, etc; which has many benefits for people who still prefer tube rigs plus a few special pedals. POD is extremely limited compared to Helix(not in a bad way) which is why it lives at this price point. A marketing mistake would be not recognizing that some people don't need the bells and whistles that drive the cost of Helix up.

Another post, this one a quick one. I'd like to see a Worship Tutorial on this Unit, where it's a down and dirty, simple way to use all SIX and just have one "device" on each one. I'm assuming you can do that, so that you can even use multiple switches out of those 6, like a compressor, distortion/overdrive, reverb, delay. Plus use of the VOL pedal, and have one of the Six set up for Ambient Swells. Simple stuff. As I said in a previous post 2 days ago, bought this unit that's due to get delivered later this wk so ALL I've done thus far was VIEW several VIDS. To me, this would be ideal to do. @worship tutorials , I have and HD 400, and I just saw this thing come out. Compared to the HD 400 and the HD500x (which is now 400.00 USD), what would you recommend? Thanks!

I was looking at the hd500x but theyre now discontinued. I ordered one from guitar center but theyre out of stock, there is one left in Alaska that cant be sourced so you'll have to buy a used one that may not have the cables you need and who knows how it was treated. The pod go seems like it has all of the functions of the 500x but condenced a little bit. On 500x there were 4 preset buttons and then 4 pedal buttons, pod go has the 4 buttons and snapshot mode so essentially the same thing but it has the models from helix so they sound better. The only thing I think may be frustrating is the looper function. Ive read it is there somewhere but the product is new and i havent seen anyone working with it. I think looping isnt used as much so that should be fine to work with and the sound is better than the 500x. I was gonna hunt one of those down because of a few features but i think the go is the better product. The 500x has 8 blocks to put whatever you want in there but the go has 4 "locked" blocks but theyre 4 things that you'll always want to use and would be putting on basically every patch you put on the 500x anyway. The go is a little smaller and has a few less bells (less plugs in the back) but I think will be superior

Great vid. Looking at picking up the Pod Go Wireless. Is there a way to run two different instruments through the Pod go? For example if I’m leading with acoustic on one song and switch to electric on another. I know this is fairly straight forward on the helix/stomp.

Great video. One question I have is, I play in a show band plays a lot of different styles of music. From Cajun to rock to jazz to country, etc. How difficult is it to go between a distortion patch to a country patch to a big band patch, etc. I just wonder if I have to push five or six buttons to get to the next patch/sound that I need. Or is it pretty much pressing the bank up or bank down button and then I have four new presets with the A, B, C and D buttons? I'm aware this is an older video so hopefully I get an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Fantastic demo! I was on the fence about getting this, but the flexibility of the unit will make this a great upgrade from my Zoom G5n.

Hey Zach....why do you think the Pod Go is a upgrade from your G5n. I am looking at both unites and trying to figure it out...which to get and Why. Seems the guys who have the G5n...or G3xn are happy with the sound. I would appreciate you insights on this...thanks

@@yourhomeonmaui Hey man, glad I could help. First off, I'm no expert, but imo the Zoom G5n has some great things going for it. The amp and overdrive models are great and suit my needs as a church player. However three things hold it back from being awesome: low DSP, inability to load IRs, and lack of reverb/delay spillover when switching patches. I've encountered much frustration when making patches due to the low DSP. When I want to make an ambient sound, I often can't because the plate and church reverbs take up

@@zacharykim295 Thanks so much Zach...you are a good writer and explain this so well...you would make a good Copy Writer...haha...or Tech...probably Tech!!! So ....you go straight to the board at church I take it? DSP, IRs...and the rest makes sense. I am going to think this through. Two friends of mine use the Helix at their church....and sound good...but for the price they paid...and a FRFR cab for gigs....just to much money. This Pod Go...might be a winner. Thanks again...talk later. " Playing for the Solid Rock Band"...PTL...;-)

Awesome video for me before purcahsing! The low gain overdrive sound is really impressive. I think the reverb and delay is a little bit much for sound evaluation, so I hope more dry or dead sound samples next time. But it's really helpful for me. Thanks!

Would this be considered an upgrade from a Boss ME-70? Im looking for a new pedalboard but am not really knowledgeable when it comes to how it all works.

Which do you recommend for the church? which is more versatile or more complete, I don't know whether to buy the pod go or the hd500x?

On the intro when you had your tele on the bridge pickup, did you have the tone rolled off any or was it wide open?

I was looking to possibly replace pedal board and was wondering if this would be a good option. At church we sing anywhere from Phil Wickham, Josh Baldwin, Bethel, Hillsong and elevation to name a few. I have a simple pedal board and I'm not a guru on pedals. I just go with the sounds I like and not looking to dial in the tone to perfection. I have a volume pedal into a joyo vintage drive, mojo mojo, Boss SD-1, MXR 78 Distortion, boss dd-6 mxr carbon copy deluxe and electro harmonix tremelo. I was wondering if the POD Go is easy to program? I do have an old GT-3 pedal and found that easy to program but the sounds were very tinny. Any feedback would be great. Thanks

I need your help! So I downloaded this patch perfectly fine and got it on my pod go, updated pod go edit and my pod go, but then when I downloaded it on my pod go the bottom left and top left square on my pod go is just empty. It doesn’t say snapshot like it does in the video and it doesn’t work as a snapshot control like it does on 6:50. Could you help me figure that out plz. Love the patch though it sounds beautiful! 🤩🔥

Am I doing something wrong? I opened it out of the box, plugged it in and all of the patches/presets are all over the place in leveling. Some are incredibly loud and others so quiet I can barely hear them. Some presets have a slight hum and background noise as well. (I am plugged straight into a VOX AC30.) So far it sounds a bit like garbage.
@rhoydotp3 жыл бұрын
Scrap the presets, most of them are garbage. Just create a few from scratch or download free ones online to get you started.
