Becoming Rooted In God - Lindy Conant-Cofer | Speaking Moment
What does it mean to be rooted in God? We all want to bear fruit, but that can be hard and painful work. “Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2. In this teaching, Lindy Conant-Cofer shares her journey, learning what it means to be rooted in his presence. We encourage you to spend some time with the Lord this week. Ask him what areas of your life he wants to grow you in and what areas he wants to prune.

Love this woman’s heart, she’s such a fireball. Love seeing her being so passionate about the simplicity of Jesus, and not trying to over complicate/over spiritualize it.

Hi friends, I could use some help finding a story Jenn Johnson says somewhere, I know it's on youtube and I've lost it :( I am trying to find a interview where Jenn talks about learning to lead worship, and she says she saw a student lead worship once and they went in with a "my life sucks" message, and it's awkward. Then a seasoned worship leader comes out with an "it won't suck forever" message. Those are the words she uses, can anyone help me find this clip?

May I ask a serious question without a hostile answer? How do you guys justify these sermons if what I'm reading in Timothy and Corinthians prohibits them?
@miriamjohnson3962

??? Could you elaborate?
@docstreamsrar
@docstreamsrar 3 жыл бұрын
@@miriamjohnson3962 Elaborate on clear and specific verses? Then I guess you haven't read Timothy or Corinthians properly. How about this one from Hosea. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." 1 Corinthians 14:34: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

@@miriamjohnson3962 Let's say your in a Bible study group with Lindy Conant and you guys came across that verse, how would it be discussed? That's all I want to know is the justification, I'd like to understand, am I missing something? Really not trying to get into an argument here. If I can see how you justify it, maybe I'll stop struggling with this. But it seems pretty clear what God is saying in his Word doesn't it?

@@docstreamsrar Sorry, I suppose I was not clear. When I asked you to elaborate, I meant I did not know what exactly you were opposed to. Those two books have a lot packed into them, and I was not sure what you were referring to.

@@docstreamsrar It does seem that way, doesn't it? A woman is not to address the congregation in question, but is instead to ask her husband. I have a question for you though. Do you know, how many women the Bible mentions as having ministry? There are quite a few. Some of them are listed down below. I have stuck to just the New Testament. The woman at the well goes and tells everyone about Jesus. Mary Magdelene was instructed to go and tell the others. Not to find her father or husband and have him speak for her. Lydia of Philippi, she and her household were baptized. Notice she is the one mentioned, not her husband, son, or father. Priscilla and Aquila are always mentioned together, indicating that Priscilla was also a leader, or Paul's, "fellow workers in Christ" Indeed, Romans 16:1-16 is filled with both men and women who have worked alongside Paul to spread the gospel. Phoebe in verse 1, is a servant or deaconess. The same Greek word is used for her as is used for Timothy. Junia in v. 7 is an apostle according to Paul. 1 Cor. 10:11 says that there is quarreling among Chloe's people. Indicating that Chloe is a leader in this congregation. Philippians 4:2-3. Women who labored alongside Paul in his ministry! So yes, the word is clear, the man is the head of the household. It is also abundantly clear that God does not just speak to men, he speaks to women too, and uses them to further his kingdom. Maranatha

6:49...1st & 2nd coming of Jesus? I find this common belief amongst many but is it scriptural? No.Jesus is Immanuel & He is WITH us right now. The ‘coming on the clouds’ phraseology used in scripture was Hebraic common language referring to judgement (Ps.18:9-12, Is.19:1 to name a few). Jesus indeed came (parousia) in judgement upon Old Covenant Israel via the Roman army in 70AD just as He said He would & in the TIME He said He would (Mt.24:34). He is not limited to ‘2’ comings as many have wrongly believed...He came in the Old Testament many times in different forms. In the New Testament He appeared many times after His resurrection. He is NOW like the Father & omnipresent hence the reason why He can appear to someone in the Middle East & still be ‘seated at the right hand of the Father’. Hallelujah!

The second coming is just terminology for Jesus coming down no longer as a just a Savior, but as the King of Kings in Fullness waging war against the enemy fulfilling the rest foretold prophesy in the scriptures in its entirety. Yes of course Jesus could still appear in dreams and visions but that’s different than to what the scripture refers to in the end times in the book of revelation and other books.

Phil Sednev and Jesus associated the END of the age with the destruction of the temple (Mt.24:1-3) which happened. What other END is there? For all the NT writers looked forward to the dissolution of the Old Covenant system (the Mosaic law) and the consummation of the NEW COVENANT. When the term ‘heaven & earth’ was used that referred to the Temple ‘system’...where heaven & earth collided. This again was common terminology used in 1st century b/c Jesus was speaking to them of Tanakh which His audience was VERY familiar with. Otherwise if one actually believes in a ‘literal’ passing away of the physical earth then that belief contradicts scripture...Ecc.1:4, Ps.119:90...to name a few. The reason for so much confusion today is b/c many try to apply modern definitions on Hebraic terms & they are unfamiliar with Old Testament prophetic & metaphorical language. God does not contradict Himself. He came in judgement on a people with which He entered into agreement WITH (Dt.28). He held up His end by judging them according to that agreement. We are in the New Covenant & the Messianic age which has no end. (Is.9:7) Dr Lynn Hiles does an excellent teaching on this kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaDTloJ8pN9lb8k
