The combiner wars menasor was such a disappointment because in the intro video leading into the line - Hasbro people said that they decided early on, "it had to work." And the first one that came out, Superion, worked great. And then we figured out all deluxes without exception were just basically repaints and slight retools of each other and then on top of that literally none of the combiners worked like Hasbro said they would except for retools of Superion.

I see PCC Mudslinger in the thumbnail. That is a correct choice. Not only butt-ugly and floppy, but the silver plastic on mine has torn itself to shreds. I don't know why PCC has some of the worst breakages of any TF toyline I've ever seen. Leadfoot and Sledge are also scrap.

Uncle Dolphin looks like Kintaro Oe from Golden boy. And I thought he was Robert D. Glad I finally figured it out. The worse combiner ever if I can ever change it some day by replacing it, happens to be combiner wars Menasor. That thing has trouble balancing itself and the shoulders also coming undone. That torso is plain trash.

I never had much experience with many combiners, but the worst one i did own was the toyworld throttlebots combiner, it looks good (as long you don't touch it), but trying to transform any of the figures was such a nightmare.

I think the biggest shock of this list is the Bayverse stuff was at the bottom of the list for everyone. I'll agree that the Hasbro version being a "studio series" run wasn't even close to the movie version as the line is supposed to be. There are a few ways to transform it to make it look closer to all floors. For me the number one worst would be Optimus Supreme, it was just stupid.

This was great! Definitely agree with a couple of you guys about Volcanicus, that combiner was awful! & I'll make it my #1. Volcanicus 2. FOC Bruticus, was interesting but hard to pose. 3. TFC Devastator, though I don't have the figure & glad I don't, I remember hearing how bad that Devy was. Lol 4. I do agree with you guys, Combiner Wars Menasor, which is awful too & cannot wait to replace it! Lol 5. Speaking of Menasor, I have to say, Fansproject Menasor was also bad too, from what I hear, was pretty bad, in itself, due to how Motormaster Transformed to make up the torso, which I hear was atrocious, which is unfortunate & could've been better.

Rise of the Fallen Devastator makes for a decent bust at least. I started collecting too late to get the cranes or dump truck, nor would I have space for the full thing, but I think I was able to make it work.

The stand-out worst combiner I've ever owned was Jungle Fiver, made by Toy Biz from the tv show The Bots Master. Five vehicles that could transform into robots and then combine, held together primarily by friction hinges, no real locking mechanisms, and the combined mode was about two-thirds legs. The entrants on the guys' lists are masterpiece quality by comparison. The shoulders and hips were ball-joints ffs!!!

I think Optimus Maximus tops Menasor! Good picks, all. I'd add the whole of TF:Energon. The up-down combiner thing always looked bad. I think it can be done well but it wasn't. I do think Combiner Wars gets more stick than it deserves. It's best combiners - Superion and Sky Reign, in my opinion - are really good and I think all the line really needed to be an absolute CHUG collector joy were more clicks on the ratchets and a really solid re-think on the hand/foot/gun. I quite like Magnaboss (although the individual bots really suffer) and really love my G1 Devastator (objectively, I get what you're saying but that's not a toy for me to be objective with). I really don't rate Feral Rex or Constructor, myself - I know I'm in a minority but they're just not for me. The TDW Piranhacon upgrade was a disappointment, too - one of my favourite G1 combiners and the kit basically turns it into a non-combining action figure. Looks good but not what I thought I was buying into.

I don't think Optimus Maximus is much worse but he stacks the things-combining-that-shouldn't issue on top of the already-bad Menasor so I do think he pips him at the post for worst! Weirdly, though, with the Perfect Effect kits in-place, I have actually grown to quite like my Optimus Maximus... I only seriously (from a collector perspective) bought Superion during Combiner Wars but I did get into the fun of Scramble-Citying up my own Sky Reign and Optimus Maximus as a way to more fully enjoy some of my guilty pleasures from the line (Sky Lynx, Alpha Bravo, Rook, Hound, Trailbreaker, First Aid...) and get some use out of the Optimus (given how bad he is in combined mode, it's easy to forget that 'bot mode isn't great, either!...). 🙂

I must agree on power rangers (and by even worse extention, super sentai) bots. some of them are just immobile statues that often doesn't even look coesive, and sometimes flat out have problems standing up G1 devastator is a hardship of truth. it's beautifull and generation defining, but it is just, immobile. the other g1, the scramble city combiner engienering was mile ahead, and even then it's just g1 limbs movement. devastator is to be placed in a neautral pose on the shelf and left there PPC was a waste. it an idea that is at least passable, with too much stuf piled on that the engieneering just could not do, and a horrible desing in most cases. hell, more than one core robot looks better in his solo robot form. and that's too bad, some of the bio created nice bases to build charathers on

Completely agree with this list glad the only combiner I’ve ever touched out of the prime wars trilogy was abominus the rest maybe giving the aerialbots a pass can go to the garbage so glad quality improved though I felt a friends cw dragstrip compared to my legacy dragstrip the cw one felt way cheaper.

I can agree on CW Menasor being the top worst combiner designs, partly due to how at most it is totally unstable. Same thing goes to any figure of the line that uses the voyager semi-truck base, which is in general the worse of all torso voyagers. PotP Volcanicus was one of the trial designs they made to give response to 3Ps making a Dinobot combiner out of nowhere. Sure, there were 'flaws' on Volkie right off the bat, but I believe the thin waist was a reference to The Beast Within. Ultimately I'm not even counting him as part of my list. For PCC, I own Crankcase & Destrons which to me is probably has one of the best torso configs in the series next to Grimstone, Double Clutch, Steamhammer, and Skyburst. And again, I totally agree on how bad the drones work as the limbs, and for me, it still depends on which drone came with any 5-pack sets. RotF Devastator was my first combiner in my collection, albeit the Supreme set, which is limited to just the vehicles combining into one gargantuan fella. And understanding the fact about SS Devy is bad in some ways, but I believe it's still down to how the designers made it look that way just to make the gimmicks work. But there is probably the best iteration for the said, and that is the EZ Collection set, which I believe is the best among all RotF Devastator toys ever released, and sadly the rarest to find these days. Any 3Ps mentioned, I think is poorly-designed, and despite I never owned a single 3P figure outside of the Volcanicus hands & feet kit, although at one time, I was planning to get the IF Bruticus but my siblings stopped me due to the reviews that its quality is not as good as the 1P toys. Ironically, the toys that were marketed to a younger audience had some of the better designs like RID15 Menasor looked more stable than its CW counterpart despite it looked like a Power Core Combiner. Also Galvatronus look very decent. Honestly, if we want to really sum up which Generations combiner is worse, we should make a list of which deluxe work best as an arm or as a leg, or both, then the worst to best voyager that forms the torso (I know... Silverbolt will be on top on that list, just because it looked rather stable unlike every other torso voyagers), and which hands and feet set is the best whether it's the retail Combiner Wars universal piece, the Prime Armors from Power of the Primes, the exclusive pieces from CW Computron/UW Baldigus, Victorion/Megatronia, and all the GS combiner sets. And let's all hope Legacy Menasor and MPG Raiden don't fall into this list once all of their components have been fully-released.

No, it isn't. Leopardon, Spider-Man's mech, came out in 1978. That inspired future Sentai seasons to have giant robots, (due to how well it sold and Marvel's hand in Sentai) the first Sentai with a robot being Battle Fever J in 1979. Beast King GoLion (what was adapted to Voltron) came out in 1981. Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the season of Super Sentai that was adapted to make Mighty Morphin Power Rangers aired in Japan in 1992, but Sentai had a full ten seasons of robots before this, well establishing giant robots as a thing for them.

I disliked my G1 Devastator so much that I was happy to buy the Jinobao oversized Devastator over the more G1 looking Toy World version for my personal MP scale collection. I really didn't want a 1k Visual reminder of how pathetic the original set was. 😂

I haven't had a lot of combiners, but using Bobby's rule (the worst I handled): 5 - Magnaboss: the Elephant, lion and eagle with broken splinted wings (they were impossible to pose) 4 - G1 Devastator: The parts forming connection between long haul and the legs was awful. 3 - CW Computron: I bought the Perfect Effect parts and it looked better, but still have stability issues, and the arms are too long and doesn't have a proper elbow. 2 - CW Defensor: I only had part of him, and I saw it was going to look terrible and flimsy, so I gave away the figures I had (didn't even sell it, it would be a steal from my part) 1 - CW Bruticus: I still have it, and is the reason why I discovered third party. It looks awful (even with PE upgrades), it can't stand w/o leaning forward or backwards, it has the proportion issues from the other combiners and it cost me around $200 (with upgrades) to realize that it won't work. All reviewers were saying great things about CWs, except Bobby (a weird guy with a Skull mask), so that was the begining of my journey. I also got discouraged by how many repaints and retools the CWs figures had. That made me feel less interested, because I had a figure several times and I was supposed to think it was the character it represented. I still have Bruticus and Computron, but If I have the chance to give them away, I will do it and make room for more stuff that really works. 😁😂

Honestly, I think it would be easier to make a 5 BEST combiners list... Almost ALL the Combiner Wars figures were terrible. I give a pass to Superion and Abominus as they look the least...awkward? Combiner Wars Devastator was and still is probably the best G1 style Devastator we'll get out of Hasbro...though why they changed Mixmaster's design when everyone else looked accurate is still a mystery. I'd say though for worst here... PotP Volcanus (the Dinobots as a combiner is just stupid as is).. ROTF Devastator (the really big one cause it didn't even turn into the individual robots)... ALL the Power Core Combiners (the entire line was just lame)... Robots in Disguise (2001) Landfill (looks like he'd go right along with the Power Core Combiner line...ick)... Armada Star Saber...(three minibots that were to try and form a sword...and fail at even being able to stay together half the time)

CW Bruticus: Onslaught had some seriously weak hips that can't support the weight in combined mode. Granted, there's upgrade kits, but the one from Transform Dream Wave is a pain in the nuts to install. 3. TFC "Uranos": ...so y'all really gonna just completely ignore the abomination that was TFC's nonsensical Superion offering?? 2. G2 Superion: Slingshot. Gold Plastic Syndrome. Nuff said. 1. CW Menasor: Yeah, this was probably the worst Combiner Hasbro ever made. Takara's Unite Warriors anime accurate repaint couldn't help, Hasbro's G2 repaint couldn't help, Hasbro's CW Optimus Maximus (and Takara's UW Convoy Grand Prime) repaint couldn't help, third-party upgrade kits aren't enough of a help...and the biggest problem among the CW Stunticons was the Motormaster/Optimus mold. As a standalone figure, it's okay enough...they don't look as badass as Grimlock or the Onslaught/Hotspot/Pyra Magna/Bludgeon/PotP Inferno mold. But as a Combiner torso...the Motormaster/Optimus mold is pure grade 💩💩💩💩💩 in a glass. Three way Dishonorable mention to the original RotF Devastator, the Legends class RotF Devastator, AND SS69 RotF Devastator (I am NOT lookin' up the individual critters): ...it's a fugly turd. The SS69 RotF Devastator actually can do the hunched over crawling look, but if I recall correctly, you risk stressing & breaking several components for doing so. Not worth the money for the risk.

The Robots in Disguise 2001 combiners did not stand the test of time. Prime/Magnus can’t hold his arms up can barely stand. G1 Bruticus repaint had no business being in that line. And the Autobot construction vehicle set was just bad. I can’t remember the bullet train team at all, so that probably means they sucked too.

This category is maybe too broad. Y'all need to do a worst combiner set per series or year run. G1 Monstructor was the worst g1 combiner in all ways. CW Menasor was the worst for the new rehash. Non-Transformer combiners had the Gobots combiner as the worst, etc....

G1 Devestator is what killed any love I could ever have for G1 TF toys. Walked into my kindergarten class and saw it i the toy pile. I was so excited until I touched it. Seriously all G1 toys are straight garbage. Took almost 35 year for me to finally buy a a figure based on G1- Open and Play Springer after your review, while not the greatest to start with , it was by far superior to anything HasTak had ever given us and DX9 Carry.

G1 Devastator is the worst combiner? It's the Original Transformers combiner that influenced everything behind it. Come on... Michael Bay Devastator is by far the WORST... Anything Michael Bay should be excluded from the Transformers discussion with Bumblebee being the exception.

Everything Power Rangers is trash. Even if they look OK, they're stuck in 1986 as far as usefulness. Bricks. And all the Power Core Combiners are awful. Combiner Wars wasn't much better aside from Superion. My worst 5 would just some conglomeration of those in melted piles of plastic.
