Ah man, I love those 41 Goudey’s! They have an attractive spectral quality, in my opinion. The 70’s, the decade of all that is tacky, is breathing a sigh of relief here. Somehow the sets from that decade didn’t get any worse than the mere blandness of 73, 78, and 79. And you have to respect the boldness of the colors of 72 and 75.

In defense of the 2021 Topps set, if you put two or more cards side-by-side, those diagonal lines that the video host here dislikes so much, those lines join together and connect the cards together, creating what I think is some nice visual continuity from card to card.

Always looking forward to your vids👍👍. I gotta be one of those who has a soft spot for 1991 fleer as i grew up during that era and if i could enjoy 1990 Donruss with all that red tomato sauce then it gets a pass😂. If its Topps brand only then 1995 straight up sucks ... its horrendous🤣imo. If i had to choose for consecutive years 2019-2020-2021. From 2016 to 2020 someone must have had a problem against borders or a frame. While not horrible it just looks uninspiring and basically looks the same; changing the name plate and logo from diagonal/ horizontal/ vertical. I'm still a sucker and buying though🤣

The 2016-2021 era was odd, for sure. Years of full bleed design and busy graphics. 2022 was downright boring in comparison, and I loved it.

Score was pretty bad in the late 80s early 90s. especially when the packs were sealed hefty bags. 1992 Donruss was brutal as well. Trying to pull probably the nicest designs cards pre-chromium, Elite Series and having to open hundreds of '91 Donruss packs to get one.

A baseball card jihad? Good video. I always hated the faux psychedelic 1972 Topps, because if you looked at enough of them, after a while you'd feel like your eyeballs were bleeding a friggin' rainbow. But over the years I guess it's grown on people, so I can understand why that set didn't make your list.

I didn't even know Goudey put out a set in 1941. Those are hideous. The 1995 and 2021 Topps don't bother me that much. I'd pick the 1983 Fleer and either the 1990 or 1991 Bowman. The '83 Fleer is just awful and those Bowman sets are the most boring looking cards I had the displeasure to collect.

Don't they shoot you for drawing the prophet Muhammad? For the record, I don't mind conservative designs. I love 1978. That Babe Ruth looks like somebody out of The Little Rascals. Once you retire, I think you've got a great future as a baseball card designer, if you can even stand Fanatics.

1995 Fleer is absolutely hideous for a set that tried too hard to be cool and daring. 1990 Bowman has no redeeming qualities (fight me here) Am not a fan of the 1988 and 90 Topps editions, although card designers didn't really try in 1990. Also hated 1991 Topps back then but has grown on me. Hard to pick modern ones because I am usually not impressed any more so hard to stand out either way
