I've read a huge number of great books that cancel out the effects of this one book, but a pretty mediocre read that stuck with me was Children of Blood and Bone. I really; _really_ wanted to like this book after hearing so many people praise it for the mythology, action, and diversity. The book actually had a really interesting world, but diversity can only take you so far. Children of Blood and Bone was actually really cliché and the characters were too immature and either didn't grow, their character growth came out of nowhere and too suddenly, or were super wishy washy.

Ellen Hopkins (aka one of my favorite authors) writes in verse. My favorite book of hers is impulse. It's about 3 characters who go to a psychiatric hospital called Aspen Springs. It's tells how each character's got to the point where the needed to go to Aspen and their days at Aspen from 3 different points of view. It is about suicide so fair warning to those who might be triggered by it.

I read a book recently called The Last Girl On Earth. I was always super interested with this idea of there only being one human left to hide among aliens but... I honestly had no idea where that book was trying to go. Like, it tried pitching itself as a romance book but the romance sucked. Then it had this dystopian, sci-fi feel that was put in there almost as an after thought. Then it tried to incorporate this idea of family and friendships and man, by the end of the book, I was done. I normally don't dislike books that badly, but there wasn't really anything redeeming about it. Even the main character was kind of boring.

I don't really mind about characters. I feel like the way they are is the way they are. I guess the author is coming from something in it. There are just people in life that are despicable which is translated at times in books. For me whether it is an irrational or rational dislike, as long as the character makes me angry or elicits any emotions, that is a plus. I prefer anger over indifference towards characters. I would hate the character and it can be a plus for the book! Plot/story is what affects my rating towards the book. Sometimes the world building as well. I have a "Disappointing books read in 2018?" video. I remember Thornhill from one of my favorite videos of yours in 2018. P.S. your video has ads, just saying coz I find it cool. Hurrah!!!

She is unreliable according to writer and lots she says gets muddled. Also, i just felt like she made a lot of bad choices and it was hard for me to be on her side.
