Here is an interesting idea. You should have Jeff play this separately but on the same console and memory card. You guys can set up pranks, gifts, etc. for each other and have like 15-20 minute episodes every second/third day or so. Even have two other people join making four in total and just go nuts with it. It'll be hilarious and awesome to see all the episodes link together!

So I've played a few Animal Crossings in my life: Wild World (DS), City Folk (Wii), and New Leaf (3DS). I never realized, however, how similar they all are to this first game. Literally, Tom Nook gives you the same EXACT things to do in City Folk that he does in this game - gives you a uniform, tells you to plant flowers/trees, deliver some packages, and put a message on the town board. Honestly, I'm glad New Leaf brought something new to the table. The idea of you being the mayor along with keeping traditional AC gameplay is really fantastic, and I can't wait to see what they do next. Thanks for playing this PBG, it's really cool to see what the roots of this franchise were like! :D

I can't get over how fast the loading screens (or lack thereof) are in this game. I remember going back to the gamecube version briefly a few years ago and I was genuinely impressed at how seamlessly the game loads houses and buildings. I'm so used to waiting five or so seconds to go in and out of places now...the lack of loading screens took me by surprise!

Man, Mitzi brings back memories for me too. When I first ever started playing Animal Crossing, it was Wild World, and when I moved in, the first villagers I met were Wolfgang and Mitzi, and they automatically became my best friends. Though Mitzi did call me a jerk once, we were still best friends, and I don't know about you, but she moved away and I got so upset I reset the village because I missed her so much. But, I did enjoy the game all the same, and when New Leaf came out, I got really happy, Animal Crossing is probably one of my favorite games.

Whenever I played this as a child, I crushed on Woolio really hard for some reason. I would send him letters (which he wrote back and always told me they were weird in some way), talk to him constantly, giving him gifts, all of that.
