WORST EYESHADOW PALETTES OF 2021

The Gucci palette looks like a tin cookie box that my Grandma purchased on a flea market for 50 cents and then you get all excited because you think it has cookies but immediately disappointed because it has her sewing kit inside.

I feel like Dior/Tom Ford eyeshadow is targeted for older women that don't put on heavy colors on their eyes. I've also had the worst experience as well and passed the palettes to my grandmother which happens to "love" them lol. Great video!!!

I wear the ND Zendo palette on my No Makeup “makeup” days. I like it for that look. I only wear simple looks with one/two shades. I picked it up on sale @ $45.

the reason why you don't like zendo is exactly the reason why i luv it. i find it toned down and so wearable. i look at it and can see multiple looks and even wear these looks to work. just goes to show, different strokes for different folks :-)

I must admit the only color from Zendo is the teal that draws me and therefore too much to pay for one shadow. I'm hoping Natasha brings out singles - at the mo she only has the blackest black, whereby if Natasha did more, we could curate our own little palettes, that would be awesome 😊

The Urban Decay Prince Collaboration because the packaging came with the letters partially missing on the first shade. Some of the shades were a powdery mess. I only bought it because I like Prince and I thought the packaging would be something to keep. It ended being garbage.

I agree with you on all of these, especially the expensive ones, they just don't make sense. Maybe except for the Love Letter palette. I bought it this year as a spring palette and I quite enjoy it, shimmers and mattes. Can recommend if others like the colors.

The lashes on you are sooooo good!!! I also agree with your pics!!! I plan to make the Dior Early Bird work for me (hopefully). I switched out the shimmers in Mary Jane and now it’s perfect (but who has time for all that!) Zendo is Zen - no. I returned it and I was so sad I just could not get with that color story although at first glance it’s pretty!!! I like spicy Morgan!

It’s so frustrating that Tom Ford is so inconsistent. I’m always so hesitant to try their products. I recently reviewed the Lava Lustre quad and it was ok but not spectacular

My worst palette of the year was one from Pat McGrath, mainly because i got an awful allergic reaction. But at least i have a good reason to not splurge on her eyeshadows now, because i'm kinda scared. Just ordered the blush-highlighter palette tho, cause i heard great things and i hope my skin doesn't react badly to those formulas.

I like the toned down shimmers of the Zendo palette, but I don’t feel it was marketed properly. Since those shimmers act more like satins, maybe that’s what they should be called. This way, people who don’t want satin shadows don’t waste their time or money. That’s extremely frustrating & disappointing to anyone looking for ND’s traditional shimmers because they are phenomenal❣️

I really love the naked cyber duochrome shades but I think the rest of the palette is too light. I kinda wish they picked more earthy greens, sage greens, purples and deeper matte shades- then I think it would be perfect

So glad I don't have any of those palettes! The only palettes I bought this year were Rose Quartz, Retro, Glam, Huetopian Dream & a bunch of Colour Pop. I liked everything I bought. Thank you for the video Morgan!

Your eye look is beautiful. I do think that the UD palette was put together haphazardly. The shimmers and mattes don’t vibe. The lashes you are wearing are very flattering to your eye shape.

The only two palettes I was disappointed in this year were the PML Bronze Borealis & the CT Celestial Palette of Pearls. Not because they aren’t good, I should have waited for reviews before purchasing...both are too similar to other palettes from the brands, which I already have 😕 Hope you & your family have a wonderful, and safe, Christmas and New Year ! So it looks like my first comment got deleted - check out Cheri Voyage for how she uses water on the Dior Night Bird palette to make it look like a beautiful watercolour painting. I like UD Cyber but do wish they swapped the silver and blue tones for green to really lean into the Matrix theming of green and red. Most disappointing to me are CT celestial pearl as I cannot stop the duochrome fall out (even with glitter glue and using my fingers) and Viseart the summer orange palette as the shimmers were unpigmented and disappointing.

The Zoeva palettes. They look like my usual neutral color story, but not pigmented at all. Excellent brushes though... PS. Try to think of the Zendo palette as the Bronze palettes' colorful long lost sister and use them together. The Zendo will make more sense trust me:)

Zendo is on it's way as we speak. I like the colourscheme and as I do have Cyber, I think the duochromes can work with the shades of Zendo. Zendo has the depth that Cyber is lacking.

I am genuinely sad about the Zendo palette. While the reviews initially weren’t great on the color palette, I found it to be my favorite, you could do so much, and I wanted it to be my travel palette. Despite reviews hating on the colors and the quality, I still wanted it. The reviews on quality were right, they’re not good.

I just KNEW I was going to have a palette or two that made this list. I didn’t realize I’d have 4! I got the UD Naked Cyber because I collect the Naked palettes, but I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll probably mix it with another palette at some point. The ND Zendo is hard for me to figure out what look to do. But I still like it. Something about it interests me. The Melt Mary Jane is one I also bought but haven’t tried yet… I love the colors! I’m actually kind of surprised Viseart Paris Love Letter was in here! I understand the reasoning… I guess it just works better for me. I like the subtle color story, but that’s just me being different. Thank you for doing these year-end roundups! They’re my favorite videos of the year! Whew! Only had 2 of the duds on your list, both of which I’ve decluttered already, because I didn’t like them either. Those were the ND Zendo and the Viseart Paris Etendu. I also had issues with the ND quality, and I found that both the ND and Viseart color stories didn’t really suit me.

I feel like the Gucci aesthetic is all about 1or 2 shades, but meant to be natural with a pop of something-like nearly bare skin with a red lip and a blue eye or an orange lip and a peach eye. I have the palette and I enjoy it, but like you, I mainly wanted it for the packaging. I was surprised though how much I’ve been reaching for it. I actually really like the peach and the white in lieu of a shimmery brow bone or inner corner highlight. I find it to be more of a spring color story.

The Zendo palette was the worst ..... I didn't use it though. I ordered it at the pre launch thing , then the reviews started to pop up, meanwhile my palette was in a plane, flying over the Atlantic ocean. I literally gave it away! Because of you and other content creators, I have (generally) avoided buying rubbish makeup. All the reviews you guys do are massively appreciated.
