my problem with AFK games is the combat is one of the best parts of a game, and when you remove that, I might as well be farming for nothing, gamble, and just watch story. Its not satisfying unless I do at least something myself.

I've basically hit that wall where I can't progress at all unless I spend money. I love the music and the depth the characters have. But not being able to progress whatsoever is ridiculous. Unless they change that aspect of the game, I pretty much let the game go and uninstalled. It's a shame, because it really is a beautiful game

The devs started adding events like the new year mission, where you would receive a lot of rewards to allow you continue progressing. This is a good motivation for me to continue playing the game, and hope they would release character event story and more event later. After all for a gacha game, all that is important for F2P player is to feel they are continue progressing in a comfortable rate.

Everything described is what I dislike about mobile games. Log in because u have to for the rewards.. play but don't play. Let the game do it for you. I get humans want to feel like their accomplishing something but reality is you aren't. The bot it doing it for you. It's just another of the same. Nothing here is unique.

kekw dude obviously didn't play enough to see what this game really is. lemme give you a brief summary here: - it's not really a game, it's a glorified powerpoint slideshow with music. - if you don't get dupes your characters are basically trash, and it's ridiculously hard for f2p/low spenders to get dupes. - vip system lulz - game difficulty outscales your progress so fast it's not even funny, even if you get the perfect reroll start. i had an account with cordi x2, florence, merlyn and olivia, played everyday and in 2 weeks it was already impossible to clear the second most difficult challenge in temple without relying on whales. whale teams also have bp requirement usually so 99% the time you simply have no chance. and lower end rewards are basically crap that you don't need, like green orbs. same goes for their pvp content, you get so little reward unless you're near the top. - guild is a joke. all the whales crammed in top 1 or 2 guilds then they occupy everything on the map. out of all players in a server, only people in those couple of guilds can hope to get anything at all. TLDR, unless you whale for this afk game, you will get gated so hard you don't get to enjoy half of the available content. so f2p/low spenders stay away. this game wins the worst gacha game of the year hands down along with nikke, albeit for different reasons. usually when i quit a game i just delete it from my device, for this one i deleted the game AND my account in game to make sure i never go back again.

I fcking agree with you. Holy s*it man, i feel like gacha game implement this old VIP/Dupe system again. Tbh, the red orbs is the one that keeping me from progressing the chapter. I've to wait 10 days only to level up 1 character. Eversoul implement this kind of system, but way way better, they has pretty good event + it's easier to get the material/gems

This game could have been quite great if it actually had a story, so it felt like there was an actual reason to progress the story in order to like read everything like a book. But in general yeah it is not good for afk, there is literally a cap on how long you can stay away from the game, because you can always at max get like 400 red/brown orb thingys no matter how long you have been away…

So far absolutely only reason I play this game is because the music is great and the backstories of each character is interesting, no point in trying to increase rarity of characters, too bad they are not doing anything with those backstories…

I see people talking about "paywalls" but at the moment i reached chapter 14 without spending a cent, not even with the most meta characters like florence and cordie. I think people dont give enough importance of team composition or runes, which are more and more important the more you progess. The BP of your team doesnt matter that much, you could be beating stages in which the enemy has the triple, quadruple or more of your BP, with the right team and runes. Also something to mention, is that things after chapter 13 get more interesting, at chapter 13 you unlock new gear sets with effects, and specific character weapons

i've got this game. i've never really been drawn to games by art alone, but given how this one looked really caught my eye. the art isn't anime or cartoonish, but rather water painted. it looks like da vinci or van gough had been the ones hired to do the characters. i'd never seen something like that so i got it just to check it out. not only was the art good, but the music is amazing and all piano done all put in the proper place to really catch the current situation, the back stories are all amazing and are utterly heartbreaking where you active DO want to protect and them such as the knight Olivia who was betrayed by her own country or the beast girl Garmr who had her village slaughtered leaving her the only survivor, and the voice actors absolutely DESTROYED the gold standard of what a voice actor should be. the sadness, joy, and anger in their voices at certain points in thier backstories sounds 100% legitimate. i often skip the story unless i'm REALLY invested in it like FGO or NIKKE: Goddess of Victory, but this is one of those few that makes me actually want to follow the entre story.

The art is 100% anime, using a waterwash for colors. It shows up sometimes. The series Grimgar: Ashes of Fantasy and Illusion has a similar illustrative vibe. The animation had to use fill coloring on the characters, but they did what they could with the backgrounds.

Honestly Memento Mori have a lot of Innovations, like how the music is in Hi Res audio. But it also means often getting people to the wrong direction, then they voiced negatively. I favor MM than Nikke, because it has chat, it has blazing fast loading speed. Unlike Nikke. Only took a few sec to load Memento Mori. Also people often getting wrong about how to select a team at Memento Mori. Like 90% wrong. For instance you're building Natasha. Do you realize how hard to get dummies for her element? Light and Dark elements are premium Character. For an idle game, always check there's premium faction inside. They're harder to collect harder to raise. Nikke, you got Pilgrims. They're stronger than the others but also needs a lot of fortune. Scarlet carried me hard on Nikke. Then, stick to the meta over waifu. It is general guideline for idle games. Your waifu will decorate and sing for you just fine without investments. Many people stuck at 8-28 Memento Mori. Because they don't know how to build a proper team and gears. Fyi, my enemy at the map is 3 times stronger than my team BP. If someone interested on team building guide, i will gladly accept. In short Memento Mori is a good idle game. Just remember it is an idle game. It have questionable development direction, but nevertheless it also unique on its own. Still, it kinda lacks content even for an idle game. 9 out of 10 at the beginning. 6.5 out of 10 after a month. I think it is only fair for an idle game to have two scoring in two different occasion. I.e. Nikke 7.5 of 10 at the beginning. 4 of 10 after a month. I just couldn't stand the lag and long loading time. Screw physics if they can't do WiFi.

Not even gonna sugarcoat, the game is trash. You could tell just how every server is basically dead besides JP You know how bad it is when a person emphasize the artistic waifus so much The gameplay, the story, emotional investment is non-existent I believe it's an achievement if you feel so at this point. Even as an Idle game, this doesn't feel rewarding to play and the whole genre is meant to brainwash you for that rewarding feeling. PVP content? Death sentence already for most people I would believe you if you said this was an Ad video

I played this game upon release and stuck with it for quite a bit. I've never played an idle game because it doesn't sound appealing. Aesthetically the game is pleasing; music is gorgeous, va is well done, and the choice of art design is great. But it feels like a waste given you don't really play it and the main story itself barely seems to get mentioned. I'll just stick to listening to the OST as that's good enough for me.

it wouldnt actually start up for me when it dropped so i kinda gave up. i gave up on PGR as well because i hit a clear wall when global dropped and simply couldnt go anywhere. they werent having events or such a whole lot at the time to get rewards to pull either so i just gave up as well. im fine if it takes a while for f2p but...not eternity lol.

If, just if, there is a story for each chapter, i'll continue this game, don't get me wrong, i love the artstyle and the music, but there is almost nothing that make me feel attache to the cararacter, those small short chararacter story wasn't enough. The amount of dupe that we need to maximize the character is a lot. the P2W PVP system' where those who strong will keep getting stronger because those whale get more currency from PVP, well i personally doesn't care but it's exist Soo... And the worst part is, they first event, the genuine first event start 2 months after the game released, WTF

I have three problems with Memento Mori. 1: There's a lot of mechanics in this game locked behind a paywall or heavy progression. In the first three chapters it makes sense because the game gradually introduces new things to you and you can get through the chapters relatively easy and quickly. But there are some features locked behind chapter 10 or something (I forget which chapter exactly) where you unlock the ability to get character unique weapons that massively boost your team. Your enemies actually have access to these weapons early on in the chapters which is why some fights feel harder than they should because some witches you fight have extra abilities that you don't through these unique weapons. You don't get access to these weapons until way way further down the chapters which could take weeks or months, unless you pay and become VIP level something to unlock it right away. 2: There's a clear meta in the game for both clearing chapters and doing PvP. You'll see the same team when you get to the later chapters and ranks that will be the same as yours. 3: Natasha is the rarest drop in the game, and I don't have whale money to get her :(

I feel like the song and graphic style are the only good thing about the game. I played for a long time but I decided to finally quit a while ago. They just keep adding more and more cash grab options for whales. At some point, you can only proceed 3 stages once every 3 weeks... while those to pay can easily outpace you in miles. I was able to stay within the top few hundred in the ranking for a long time. I was actually buying those 30 days pass and a few stuff too, but just can't keep up.

Well I'm glad you pointed out that this game has a Nikke Powerwall-like problem. The characters look great though and it looks and I'm hoping it has not done censorships on its characters. I would like to try this next year while waiting for Eversoul. Edit: wait... requiring dupes... to override the power wall requirements... It sounds very much like Nikke's problem... yikes. Who made this game? Who are associated with this game's creation, publishers and developers? If the publishers and developer are trash a-holes, then I'm out.

I made it to like around Chapter 9 and then quit cuz I got tired of it, need so many dupes to be able to progress but since my luck is garbage I couldn't deal with it anymore, however, I will say the music and character voice are amazing. Favorite song is "Ⅸ. THE ICE" from the character Lunalynn (doesn't matter if in English or Japanese, it's aboslutely beautiful).

I reach chapter 13 in this game. I stayed because the bgm is good and the character story js nice but.... 1. they dont hv story on main story, wth man whats even the main story wanna say, they run from church to release from witch to witch, but what? Nothing to say after 1st chapter tutorial... 2. Hey u got SSR from gacha, but u got sharted by the game and u got SR unit in SSR form, i got stuck i need genuine SSR unit to progress at lv 160+, because of 5 streak of SSR (SR Unit) i quit the game. Its like i know man u wanna milking money. But thats just too much, u already happy to get SSR but its SR Unit goddamn it.
