Late but my theory is this: Sometimes in performances you hear the live voices fade out, especially ive noticed it in TWICE (about half sing live sometimes) and KARD. Another thing is that when I'm learning a song or practicing, if I have sheet music or printed lyrics, I'll note where in the melody or music where it's easiest to take a proper breath. So Jennie's audio fading in and out is probably because the loud section is her designated breathing point and the soft section is when she's supposed to rap. Meaning one of two things happened (or both). They used the wrong audio and it was supposed to be full lipsync, hence why her mic was off. Or, she was supposed to sing over it and be mostly live, but someone messed up her mic. Either way, it's odd, since that's more or less what soundcheck is for.
