My utter fail this year was the new Mario palette. I loved the color story and took a chance, even though opinions were very divided. Everyone praised the matte formula, and when I tried it I literally had this "am I in the twilight zone?" moment. The mattes are the chalkiest, dustiest formula I think I've ever tired, and that includes the drugstore. They go on decently pigmented, but then blend out into mud - to the point where the dark blue looks the same as the dark grey - and they begin disappearing from my eyes, literally melting, within minutes. I am very fair skinned and always use a good primer (not concealer) on my oily lids, so this was absolutely crazy to see. Also, every look I did ended up looking the same. It was comically bad. I've tried a bunch of Mario's products and never liked anything I bought.

@@lyra2282 I'm sorry for the fail. I keep meaning to try an eyeshadow palette, but I just never do. Maybe it's for the best. I love the super satin lipsticks and the cream bronzer and powder from the line. They're lovely. I hope you have better luck next year. Thanks for watching.

I find fails as informative as favorites! My fails this year wasn’t because of the product being bad but either because of my colouring (looking at you Kitten Mischief) or my hypersensitivities (Sweed Le Lipstick & Lisa Eldridge 1C lip liner).
@thelipstickgalАй бұрын
I'm so glad that you enjoy the fails. Sorry that Kitten Mischief isn't working for you. It's a favorite of mine. Perhaps you could cocktail it with a different lipstick or liner? I do that sometimes to get use out of a shade that I don't love 100%. Just a thought. Thanks so much for watching today!
@annao5796Ай бұрын
@ So many seems to really love Kitten Mischief but it pulls far too warm on me. I’ve added a bit of Blush Lightly on occasion to make it mesh better with my colouring, I just wish I didn’t have to.

My fail is the vanishing mascara. I have gotten several samples of the Chantecaille mascara. I love the brush wand but it literally disappears off my lashes in an hour. Very weird. I would never buy it and I finally tossed my trial sizes. And of course I just got yet another one from Blue Mercury. Into the trash!

Everytime I eat my left eye just starts leaking like a faucet. I have a hard time with liners too. I was hoping the eyeliner corner puddle would take off. lol. I found that the Believe Gel Eyeliner from Dollar General lasts better then my urban decay 24/7, especially in the brown.

That Rare Beauty powder is useless on my oily T zone and it's a bit less useless if I use the Rare Beauty puff rather than a brush for application. In fact, I don't know if Rare Beauty makes any great product.

Love that lipstick colour on you. My flops were a drugstore mascara, I am very sensitive with mascaras and I have always gone back to Lancome/L'oreal which work for me. And the liquid blush by Elf, everybody seems to like it but I found this very difficult to blend
@thelipstickgalАй бұрын
Blush that is hard to blend is a no-go for me. I already deal with blush blindness, and something that makes the process harder is completely out of the question. This lipstick is the Limited Edition shade from Merit in Bespoke. It's very similar to Lisa Eldridge Meet Me In Berlin, and I've got a heavy layer of Makeup Forever Where Ever Walnut on underneath it.

I have the same issues with primers, most of them peel on me! Until I tried the By Terry one. Love it! It’s glowy but somehow blurring as well, and no peeling! I love their hyaluronic powder as well, it’s not drying on my dry skin. I think By Terry is underrated 😊 people barely talk about their products here on youtube.

At this point my sunscreen has to double as primer, I just can’t be bothered with another step or layer. Most of the time BOJ or Elf whoa glow fit the bill. I might also use a little targeted pore smoothing just on my nose and around it but that’s it.

The Rare Beauty powder was a miss for me, too. The Rare Beauty powder blush was a dud for me. I am anti fuzzy applicators. I didn't have a ton of fails. The Melt Smoke Sessions II was a huge disappointment. I am a snob about formula. This just wasn't great. The purples were so lackluster. I had some mascara fails, but honestly, I can't remember what. I have a back log of mascara so if I didn't like it I didn't feel bad about tossing it. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️

I know you were so excited about the Melt Smoke Sessions. (The purples!) Sorry it was such a disappointment for you. I totally forgot about the Rare Beauty blush. That was also a fail for me. It's not a blush, but a highlight. The shade I got doesn't really work as either blush or highlight for me. Somehow my kids love it, and they reach for it all the time. At least it's getting some use from them. The Rare powder wasn't amazing. I'm not willing to use something that makes my undereyes look older. There are so many great powders out there, I don't have to use bad ones. Thanks so much for watching today and have a great week.

I love your earrings! A recent HUGE fail for me was the Armani Luminous Silk liquid highlighter. I got it from Selfridges to get it before it launched in the US. I was so excited to try it because Armani has beautiful liquid blush and liquid eyeshadows. This thing was zero color, zero glow, all glitter. Awful! It’s at Sephora now. If I’d gotten it there I would have returned it. I returned that Natasha Denona highlighter, too. It looked horrible on me.

Hello~ I have a few skincare/cosmetics that didn’t work for me in some way. I’ll mention a few. The Qure micro-infusion solution for fine lines and wrinkles DOES work but with a cost! I did it twice and both times, my face broke out with irritation and rash on 2 days post-procedure. After healing(day 5 on), I definitely saw positive results! It’s just my skin reaction so I can’t fault the product. Em cosmetics Da Vinci eye shadow palette pulls too warm on my skin tone. Their Divine Water has a lovely scent and feel but does not “set” my makeup. I feel it is more for hydration. Iris and Romeo Weekend Skin SPF just sat sticky on my mature/combo skin/oily skin. Ugh! So the world of beauty is to live and learn! We’re all in it for the adventure!
@thelipstickgalАй бұрын
The EM Divine Water is what makes my makeup look like it melts into my skin. Makes it look less like it's sitting on top of my skin, and that's what I use it for. I normally don't end up using a long lasting setting spray. (not usually) I've been looking at the Qure micro infusion solution, but now I'm worried. I'm not sure I'm willing to deal with irritation, breakouts and rash. That would take a long time for me to heal. : | Yes, we live and learn as we go through the makeup world. Thanks for sharing your fails today. Have a wonderful holiday season.
@MiriamRoquizАй бұрын
@, you may not react to the Qure Microfusion for fine lines and wrinkles. I didn’t have any irritation with the Microfusion Dark Spot solution so I’ll continue the “stamping” with only that for my hyperpigmentation.

There is nothing worse than a bad make-up product these days, especially with how far the formulas and industry has come. I honestly have to say that anything that I have tried that I feel was “Bad” was simply just not suited for me or preferences. A good thing I guess. :)

I almost got away with not having anything all year that I would put in this category until this week actually 😀, ok here we go This week I tried a new foundation and for me with my skin type and my skin care products this product really irritates my skin only because it has niacinamide and I didn’t think about the fact my moisturizers already have niacinamide in them as well so it’s just to much in my skin - urban decay facebond foundation - it’s a good product and I liked the finish and wear of it I just can’t wear that formula Secound is again a good product but I realized did not do what I wanted on me personally - the persona cosmetics eyeliner shade stone - specifically that one shade - because it is a metallic shade it dose not set down in my waterline like I had hoped it would with my watery tear ducts - I love the shade graphite in this line because it’s not a metallic so it sets better in my waterline
@thelipstickgalАй бұрын
Ooh, I haven't tried the Urban Decay foundation, but I wonder if all the stuff I have that has added niacinamide is a disaster waiting to happen. I hadn't even thought of that. I'll have to keep that in mind incase I ever start dealing with irritation. Thanks for letting me know. I'm sorry about the Persona eyeliner. I wear it all the time, but usually keep it out of my waterline. I've been skipping that recently . . . don't know why, but I have. Maybe it does the same to me, but I haven't noticed. Thanks so much for watching today, and I'm sorry you've had a couple of bum products this year.
