Gareth, for a minute there I thought they had served it in a chamois leather. I prefer my breakfast the old-fashioned way and not in a roll/bun/bap/wrap. Once again you show people what they are getting.

Flour tortillas need to be lightly toasted on a hot griddle or pan,only fresh home made ones should be eaten right off the bat.Packaged ones will indeed be leathery and if left to steam in the paper will be like chewing gum.But even that toasting wouldn't have made this mess acceptable.

And in most restaurants Tortillas are just as good. The only problem seems to be with the fast food joints and ready made wraps in shops, Always rubbery with horrible texture and with a weird flavour or no flavour at all!

In Canada they used to have these. It had a tasty omelet instead of eggs but they changed it to those greasy eggs later on. It was my favorite but they stopped making them. It seems that when they get something good they discontinue it.

Hi Gareth, thanks for review….. I got an omelette wrap a good while ago and your description of the tortilla is spot on…… I got the omelette with tomato sauce and I got about a TEASPOON of sauce in one dot at one end. It was awful (egg too was bad) and I vowed never to buy any wrap McDonalds ever do! I have a feeling you might do the same! ❤

The breakfast wrap used to be awesome before they cancelled it. When they brought it back, it's different. The egg is rubbery and no longer edible (it used to be scrambled) and the potato rosti's are totally different. It's not the same awesome wrap it used to be. I couldn't stomach the one I tried last week; awful stuff. Thanks for the review.

I’m glad you sample this stuff (stuff being the operative word) so we know to avoid it. That looked revolting. It’s just all their rubber food inside a rubber wrapper. Same, building new Micky Ds here, seems the model is all drive thru and menu screens, staff no longer visible or just handing food through service hatch.. Looks like they don't want people to actually come inside or if they do mainly pick and go..

I gave up on McDonalds years ago - always had the hundred yarders the day after! Much prefer Burger King, which I may have about every six months! You mentioned the wrap being a bit cold - that always seems to be the way with them!

The breakfast wrap used to be fantastic originally. Tried it today and its not the same. They used to scramble the egg if I'm not mistaken plus it seems to lack seasoning.

I've never had a wrap. My only breakfast at McDonald's is the Sausage and Egg McMuffin Meal with a white coffee. It never disappoints. I've had over a hundred of these breakfasts in the past five years. The price for the meal is the same as the wrap. I think the reason why the Sausage and Egg McMuffin has been such a successful product is the balance of the muffin to the sausage pattie and the egg with the slice of American cheese. They just seem an ideal combination. Please try one to see if your opinion of McDonald's breakfast offerings improves.

Gareth, if the wrap is the main issue, they also do a "Breakfast Roll with Ketchup" and a "Breakfast Roll with Brown Sauce" which are the same thing as the wraps but with only one egg, and back bacon instead of streaky. Might be worth a go!

Again Gareth, you are bang on the money with that revue. The worst food item that McD's serve bar none is what they call bacon. It both looks and tastes like plastic, it's revolting. As someone has said, double sausage and egg McMuffin meal every now and again is passable, but even they don't taste half as good as they used to IMO. I think the flavour of the muffin is all wrong now, I don't know whether anyone else out there agrees, it may just be me.

They've basically brought the wrap back but not the cooking methods they had with the original - ie the folded egg. Tortilla wraps still need to be "cooked" a little bit before consumption, I'm not convinced they do this. They are better if you take them out, arrange the ingredients, cut it in half and eat from the middle (as there's too much excess at the ends). Not a massive McDonalds fan, but I did used to enjoy the breakfast wraps now and again 5/6 years ago.

I have found that it very much depends on the branch and person preparing the wrap that will dictate how good it will be. On the first morning of it being relaunched I already didn't get off to a good start when I heard the staff member loudly asking "how do I wrap this?" (I must have been first one at just before 7am to order it). It was a mixed bag. But other branches been far better, although one they over wrapped it at points leaving the egg, etc sogging the bottom of the pack.

Years ago not sure about now we used to get a flatcake breakfast, an extra large bread bun and filled with a breakfast. You choose what went in there from all the usual. If I recall they were about £2 and lasted you near enough all day. They must be about £8 now. Bit of a fail by Mac's. Weather here in Yorkshire much the same.

I had one of these the other day and wish I'd have just got the breakfast roll. The ingredients just don't work with the tortilla (pronounced 'tor-tee-ya', not 'tor-tiller' Gareth!), either flavour wise nor logistically. Mine pretty much just fell apart as soon as I took it out of the packaging and trying to eat it as it's supposed to be was like fighting to hold on to a slippery eel

Good review Gareth I think McDonald's have become very pricy for what it is. They used to be ok but to be honest I am sure you would get better from your loca greasy spoon/ sandwich shop. Have you tried the sausage patties from Aldi? I use them to make my own Sausage and Egg Muffin. You can make them for about 75p and that's way cheaper than Maccy Ds. Thanks for trying it for us. I think it's another one to avoid.🎉

Have you tried to open those tiny suace packages from McDs? The foil container it comes in nis harder to get into than Fort Knox, and when you do finally get it open, the sauce goes everywhere. Appreciate McDs do also supply sauce as part of their condiment set (when it's working). Don't like the bacon. It always smoked bacon and tastes awful.

I’ve never had much luck with Maccas wraps. I always stick to the sausage & egg McMuffins. Never been a fan of hash browns on burgers or wraps… the only potato I like on bread are chips. It’s always a gamble with Maccas hash browns… it’s rare you get a good crispy one. That bacon looked like sommat I’d scrub me bathroom with 😂 they do a good coffee though.

Used to enjoy a McMuffin but haven’t had one for donkeys. The bacon has gone mingin and the sausage always seems to be proper greasy so give it up as a bad job. Can’t whack a breakfast from Mrs O’s in Warrington, she does tomato sausage as well, a proper local treat.

This is one reason why it's called Muccas or MuckDonalds here in Australia. I won't buy their buns or wraps. I prefer to go naked or bring my own gluten free bun or wrap and put the fillings in myself. I was about to order one and some other stuff, mostly because I was craving a milkshake. Then I've seen they don't sell chips in the morning. Next I'm on KZbin to see if the so called wraps are worth it, but man it's looking terrible. There's better food places around, McDonald's only quality would be it's price, which is sometimes higher than some other fast-food places.
