Its absolutely unbelievable that nobody has died since the tragic Dale Earnhardt wreck besides Kevin Ward but he wasnt in his car when that happened. Thats a pretty good record for the amount of races and crashes NASCAR goes thru every week for decades.

@@tsunamianakin9649 right, if we are counting Ward then Carlos Pardo in 2009 should be mentioned too, it was from a Nascar series in Mexico. Same with Blaise Alexander and Eric Martin in Arca, in late 2001 and 2002 respectively, as Arca is owned by Nascar now

Blaise Alexander in ARCA died in 2001. He is actually the real reason why all the safety stuff exists. Because his crash involved Kerry Earnhardt and his crash was the exact same as Dales. Blaise was and still is the reason why the mandated all of the safety devices.

It is incredible how safe they've managed to make these cars. Watching Dillon hit the fence and seeing it go from 150+mph when it hit the fence, down to basically 0 in just a matter of yards, was incredible. The fact that he was able to crawl out and walk away really does show the amazing achievements that have been made in the safety of the cars and also of the barriers that protect the spectators.

It honestly wouldn't have surprised me if he wasn't even inside what was left over as it came to a stop. That looked far worse than Earnhardt and Bonnett to me. Wonder why we never see Elliot Sadler's 03 Talladega wreck on videos like this? It's not as bad as some here but it's way worse than others that made the list.

Johnny, I live 20 minutes from Daytona Speedway and I have talked to 2 EMT'S who worked that day and they both said Earnhardt's did not have a face left after the accident!! It was truly awful!! My information is all first hand and is not from a b.s autopsy report!! That is why Theresa Earnhardt went to court to have the autopsy photos sealed from the public the next day!!

Unbelievable that the drivers were not all killed and I wander how many spectators have been seriously injured when they’ve hit the barrier fence from flying debris and flames I know I wouldn’t want to be at the front!

How many more empty seats can NASCAR take?

Man, imagine how many spectators could have been killed already without those fences. But I think there's still fence protection lacking in the infield that NASCAR should consider. One guardrail is not going to stop an airborne vehicle. I think the whole pit area should be fenced off as well somehow.

so every single one one these drivers are going easily over 130 plus the wreck at 2:53 when the second driver drove through the car. question would that guy get charged with murder if that driver died?
@HPayne62
@HPayne62 Жыл бұрын
I doubt it. This environment isn't like a regular road, it's a high-risk controlled environment and nearly any incident would be manslaughter at the very worst. Tony Stewart ran over a driver at a short track in New York a few years ago and saw no charges- not that it was malicious anyway, the guy was stoned and walking into traffic in a black suit at night.

if you look at time slot 13:39 you will see Geoff Bodine at Daytona truck race in 2000 when he hit the wall and his car explode, I remember that crash because I was in the 3rd row where he hit the wall and i just about s##t my pants trying to get out of there but a couple of beers calmed me down.

Steve Park's career in NASCAR was cut short due to injuries. I don't think this one ended his career. I think the one that ended his career was at Darlington.
