One of the most interesting things (to me) that I've discovered over the last handful of years, is that makeup is so subjective! It's why I've moved away from recommending complexion in any capacity! I can think of one product in particular that a friend absolutely hated, sent to me & I adore! So many factors play into why this is a normal phenomenon!

The worst product I’ve tried this year was a sample of the Tower28 tinted moisturizer! Looked ok at first, but just a few hours into the day I looked in the mirror and literally gasped at how awful it looked! It had separated from my skin in this weird way that looked like scales? Or you know like the cracked pattern that appears in mud after it dries? And yet it was also incredibly oily! Just awful, I wiped it off right there in the office bathroom and spent the rest of the work day with a bare face.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your glasses!!!! I just started your video, but I decluttered the Mario foundation right away. Not only was it too glowy (I have combo skin), but it barely lasted four hours. It’s a shame because I do like MOST of the brand’s products.

I agree that it’s so disappointing when you buy a product you already own and enjoy in a different shade and it doesn’t perform the same way! I do enjoy the shade of Victoria Beckham’s Posh Blush in Miniskirt so I bought another shade, but didn’t enjoy the shade and it seemed really patchy. Also I enjoy the Eyewear in Trench so creamy, blendable and long wearing… so then decided to buy Pecan. It didn’t blend at all! I even tried putting a little oil on my eyelid 😂 it was so patchy too. I emailed them and they did send me another one and it did blend a little better.

I am LIVING for this look! Hair, glasses, makeup, outfit. I have a bit left of the Kaleidos eyeliner in Tourmaline, and I love it for under my lash line. But I’ll never buy it again, it broke inside the component, and when I opened it, a half the product flew out and dropped into the sink. 😣

I hate to say it, because I absolutely love the aesthetic and overall look that tower 28 makeup is going for but I think it’s literally ALL overhyped and it goes bad so fast that it’s not worth any amount of money to me 😂

i used to have the old uoma stick with the contour on one end and highlight on the other and one time i accidentally put the contour on my cheekbone thinking it was the highlighter... in that moment i was glad how blendable the product was 😂

The absolute worst product I have EVER put on my face in my entire life is the Tatcha powder. It didn't come out this year, but it still reigns supreme as the most horrible cosmetic experience I've ever had. I was pumped for the release and snapped it up right away. Packaging was a clunky flimsy purple done, akin to something from Wet N Wild. Cheap packaging aside, the product within was worse. A chalky mess that sucked every drop of moisture from my skin. Gritty and grainy, like sawdust. I aged 86 years in an instant. Drying beyond belief while simultaneously supplying zero oil control or longevity to my foundation. Somehow mixing with the products underneath to form some pasty foundation mud or cosmetic gravy. Oh, and it smells like wet cornflakes. It was a hideous monstrosity and I'll never forgive it. 😂

Hey Queen Hautie! You look great rockin' the dark chocolate locks in this video! Soooo, I don't have a huge makeup collection, just an arsenal of select items. I'm more into having a large variety of eyeshadows (bright colors & neutrals, a few mattes & many shimmers), a few options of powder blushes & a few different colors of eyeliners. I actually do have a few items from some brands you mention in this video that I am actually ecstatic about. Please note that I'm not dismissing any of your experiences with any of your items & just want to share some of my experiences. I have 2 shades of the Glaminatrix Glimmering Creatures collection (Lion & Bear) & absolutely love them. I also have the Kaleidos Night Of Creation eyeliner & again, I absolutely love it. It is smooth/soft & actually did not tug on my eye whatsoever. Any item like that I'm quick to return it. I know this liner is supposed to have a color shift, but I also knew that it might not be so noticeable since I was only going to use it on such a small area (my waterline, not my lid). But, the shimmery blurple color it delivers is divine! As for MUF, I recently got the Ivy color eyeliner & it's a perfect dark shimmery eggplant/plum color & easy to apply. Regarding VB, I only have 3 items. 2 Lid Lustres (Velvet & Starlight) & 1 eyeliner (Smoky Quartz), love all 3 & super happy with them. So appreciate the ‘3 weeks later’ review! I would have been furious if I’d gotten the T28 and then next time I had to wear mascara (not a daily mascara person) it was all crusty. The salt new york sneaky balm is doing everything for me you describe the original 3 drop was doing for you! Maybe worth a try if you haven’t yet. It’s my favorite “slap and go” base product these days.

I bought the rituel de fille foundation because I have dry winter skin and it was described as good for dry skin, but it stuck to my dry patches and highlighted my pores?? I was so confused. It did get better throughout the day, but still not fantastic. Went back to my Etude double lasting serum foundation, which I can use through the summer when my skin is more oily. You actually might like that one, it’s more of a lightweight coverage that is hydrating rather than oily. Another absolutely terrible product is the Mac mini mascara 3 pack, idk if the full sizes smell the same but the smell of those mascaras was so strong it made my eyes water, completely defeating the point of using them.

I wish you released this a few days ago :(. I finally purchased the MBM glow whatever TF it is. It’s basically useless, I much prefer my Gucci Westmans lit up stick in brûlée. I honestly thought it would be a glowy bronzer but it’s meh.

I couldn't get the rare beauty liquid blush to do a single thing I wanted. I don't regret trying it, and some of the issue may be the color I chose, but I'm not going to bother trying more of them. I think cream blush is where it's at for me, so at least the rare beauty taught me something.

I bought the VB highlighter and the blush in Rollerskate and hands down Westman Atelier wins in every single category. The highlighter is... OK, it does what it's supposed to do it's a "grown up" highlighter that it's not too shimmery, glittery or metallic. The VB is fine, with the WA one in the stick format (which I know you don't like, I look flushed and I like the finish it gives my skin, and all the Superloaded ones are very beautiful specially Peau de Santé and Peau de Pêche. The blush is also... OK, it kind of drags, but the colour is not out of the ordinary and all the WA blushers are a lot more nuanced (Mimi, Minette, Chouchette, Petal, Poppy) and I prefer their wear time. I'm comparing them because I think the target audiences are the same. The only redeeming quality that the VB products have is the size, they are so conveniently portable. But to me my stars are the matte brick bronzer which I love and I've hit pan on the dark shade and the contour pen which is a great recreation of the Burberry pen, which I'm sure she went to the lab and said "I loved this product, make it again". I will wear them because I want to hit pan on all my products on rotation, but it doesn't excite me at all.

It’s so interesting that the MILK contour didn’t work for you! I barely use contour but I like it in the colour toasted (I am light neutral cool) it looks perfect and it spreads just enough also blending very well. 😂makeup is really interesting like that! I also apply directly of my cheeks. It is so true that what is right for me might not be right for you… 😅

I’ve done a few casual projects this year. Earlier in the year I hid my eyeshadow palettes from myself to see if I would miss them. It wasn’t much of a series I did an intro video and a follow up and that led to me decluttering quite a few of my palettes. I have some stuff planned for next year that I haven’t finalized yet but it’s on the docket!
